Inspects equipment to ensure proper orientation, contacts service if necessary. + Provide copies of imaging studies in a timely manner. + Perform routine imaging, emergent, invasive, and all special procedures according to the policy/protocol manual and written orders. + Maintain adequate supplies in the work area with items necessary to perform the daily schedule. + Orient new personnel and assist in their transition to the work environment as assigned. + Aid other associates in the department upon completion of duties or as assigned by a supervisor. A caregiver who excels in this role will: * Perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic procedures. * Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay. * Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS. * Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam. * Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. * Maintain documentation. * Address equipment malfunctions, notify management and report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS administrator. * Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine priority of patients, and process billing. Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient. Radiology Technologists may go on to specialize in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) varying shifts, must work a minimum of 4 shifts within a 6-week period with 1 holiday per year and the ability to float to the Mentor location.
