Job summary We're seeking a Head of Security to own and evolve Avantos's security and compliance posture as we scale with enterprise financial services customers. This is a director-level, hands-on leadership role - ideal for someone who has built pragmatic security programs in modern cloud-native startups and knows how to balance rigor with execution speed. You will be responsible for ensuring our platform, infrastructure, and internal processes meet the expectations of regulated enterprise customers today (SOC 2) while laying the groundwork for future expansion into additional regulatory environments, including the EU. What You'll Be Doing (i.e., Job Duties) Lead the preparation of all quarterly and annual filings with the SEC, in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, including preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements and quarterly statements of stockholders' equity and preparation of disclosures. Assist in coordinating the review and approval of quarterly and annual SEC filings by all relevant parties, including the Disclosure Committee, Audit and Compliance Committee, external auditors, and internal and external legal counsel. Support Investor Relations through tie out and other quality assurance review of their externally published materials, and prepare and file the earnings release 8-K. Prepare the accounting/finance portion of quarterly Disclosure Committee and Audit Committee decks and present at the Disclosure Committee meeting. Lead the Maintain SEC reporting calendar and project manage the SEC reporting process to conform to this calendar, efficiently and effectively coordinating across teams. Coordinate with accounting policy on new accounting standards issued by the FASB and accounting and reporting guidance issued by the SEC to determine the impact to the company's disclosures, including writing position papers as needed. Support management in completing special projects as assigned and be a financial reporting resource for ad-hoc questions and initiatives. Responsible for the coaching, mentoring and management of the SEC reporting team, including across multiple time zones in a mostly asynchronous environment. Ensure SEC reporting processes and disclosures represent best practices, recommending and assisting in the implementation of disclosure and process improvements as appropriate, including simplifying, standardizing, and streamline processes. Key responsibilities & duties: Check all personnel entering the facility. Perform patrols around the perimeter as instructed by management Controls traffic by directing drivers. Maintain access logs. Maintain quality service and standards by complying to any rules, regulations, and procedures put in place by the facility Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements. Report any issues found immediately. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Cooperate and communicate with all management, supervisors, and coworkers within the facility. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers. Use radio or other communication devices in a clear and concise manner. Monitor and prevent movement of prohibited items into and out of property. Report safety issues, such as fire hazards, vandalism and suspicious or criminal activity. Requirements Detail-orientated and keen observation skills. Reliability and dependability. Communicate effectively in English both written and verbally. Good time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Dependable with reliable transportation. Previous security experience. Spanish speaking is a bonus, but not required. Physically capable of performing the job duties.
