IAPP CEO and leadership

John Drake is a Chief Product Officer at IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals and is based in Porsmouth, North Holland Province, Netherlands. He has worked as Director of Business Development at Sentient Decision Science; Manager, Financial Analysis at Blackstone Group; and Director, Pricing at American Express. John studied at Berwick Academy between 1986 and 1992, James Madison University - JMU between 1992 and 1996, and Universidad de Salamanca between 1995 and 1995.

In her role as vice president Amy Sherwood manages operations for the IAPP. As part of the leadership team she helps develop the IAPP strategy andensures the functional rhythm of the organization. She is responsible for oversight of the Events, Membership, Publications, Certification/Training and Marketing Departments. Today, Sherwood is focused on global services, new marketing and the IAPP's operational platform for its growth into the next decade. A special area of emphasis also includes IAPP culture and values. Prior to joining the IAPP, Sherwood worked at the Markle Foundation in New York and Strawbery Banke Museum in New Hampshire. Sherwood has a BS in communications from the Park School of Communications, Ithaca College, and a BA from the Culinary Institute of America. She is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) as well as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). Sherwood has been a big sister through Big Brothers, Big Sisters for over a decade and currently serves as a board member and treasure of the Greater Newburyport Mothers and Families Club, and is an Education Committee member of the New England Society of Association Executives.She lives with her husband and son in Massachusetts where she is actively involved in school advocacy and local politics. For fun she cooks and stirs the pot as a moderator on her city's social media hub.

In his role as Chief Financial & Revenue Officer of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Andrew leads the finance, marketing and distribution functions of the organization. As part of the leadership team, he helps develop IAPP strategy and direction while promoting revenue generation efforts through all distribution channels.Prior to joining the IAPP, he owned a consulting firm providing outsourced CFO services to 40 companies, and prior to that served in leadership roles in enterprise sales, sales operations and financial management at AT&T.Andrew has a BS in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire Whittemore School of Business and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).Outside of work, he leads Capstone Farm, an equestrian facility that provides a community of development for teenagers and young adults aspiring to high levels of eventing in United States Equestrian Association competitions. He lives with his wife, Amy, and their three children on a farm in Maine. For fun, Andrew rides and competes his horse, Capstone’s MJ Tasmainia, a 16-hand Canadian Warmblood.

Jeff Northrop, Chief Technology Officer at the IAPP is a software developer and, security and privacy professional. Prior to joining the IAPP, he was chief technology officer at Abistar Group, a market research firm operating in the franchising industry; director of technology at Heinemann Publishing; chief technology officer at Wunderkind Studios; and co-founded Lore Consulting.
