Job Summary
:
Responsible for managing and growing Makita sales revenue within the defined territory through the proper execution of Makita's strategic initiatives and sales programs. This role primarily focuses on residential and commercial construction supply accounts and key end-user companies, while overseeing the entire territory sales revenue and account base, and promoting Makita's Best-In-Class Engineering & Innovation brand position and the extensive Makita product line.
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per year plus bonus potential
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Compile lists of prospective/target customers (Distribution/End-Users) for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories and publications, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Websites, and other prospecting sources, including job site surveillance.
Travel throughout the assigned territory to conduct Makita business, including occasional travel outside of the territory for corporate meetings, including District and National needs.
Display and demonstrate Makita products, including performing Makita product knowledge sessions for dealers and other audiences.
Provide expertise and support regarding pricing, quoting, credit terms, orders, and many other sales support and account management functions.
Perform business reporting functions, such as, but not limited to, sales reports, account update reports, monthly reports, call reports, expense reports, mileage reports, and other reports as needed.
Present, execute, and administer Corporate Sales Programs, including co-op, trade agreements, rebates, strategic initiatives, and promotions, along with other corporate programs as needed.
Provide input to the Marketing Department and properly utilize and distribute the Makita marketing department collateral materials, including, but not limited to, catalogs, lectures, brochures, campaigns, and point-of-purchase materials.
Coordinate, schedule, and execute customer support events, including, but not limited to, product knowledge training, product demonstration, national contractor training, shows and events, and joint sales calls.
Create and execute strategic sales growth plans and proposals for key accounts and the territory, as needed (i.e., monthly, quarterly, or annually).
Support the Makita accounting department as needed, including, but not limited to, new account set-up, credit applications, credit limits, credit balances, and proper communications with the Accounts Receivable team regarding exceptions.
Develop and continually strengthen professional relationships within all entities, internal and external, involved in our business, such as dealer sales staff, management staff, purchasing, and ownerships, including appropriate end-user key contacts and decision-makers.
Investigate and resolve customer issues and concerns.
Stay abreast of market conditions, changes, and competitor activities within the industry and territory, and communicate findings internally.
Be cognizant of other Makita divisions such as manufacturing and assembly, National Industrial MRO, government/GSA, Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE), and Big-Box retail, including all other divisions.
Understand and execute a solutions-based sales approach.
Support Makita National Accounts
Schedule account meetings, Sales update meetings, and any other meetings as required. Meetings must be conducted in a professional manner that includes written agendas, PowerPoint presentations, and sales figures etc.
Maintain and control Makita's assets and their records, such as vehicles, demo tools, marketing materials, product samples, etc.
Perform all company functions per federal, state, and municipal laws and company policies.
Applicant Qualities Desired:
Experience working in the residential and commercial construction industry.
Sales professionals with discipline and solution-selling skills.
Ability to build relationships to gain customer loyalty and penetrate accounts within the market.
Strong customer service skills with an ability to successfully cold call new and potential customers.

Participate in pre-proposal design coordination meetings to support the development of pricing documents for conceptual estimates.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or a combination of education (including trade schools) and professional experience.

Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
Set up equipment and welds parts, using arc welding equipment.
May assemble parts by bolting.
May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torch, straightening press and other hand tools.

Welder Qualifications:

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
* Lead development and implementation of xPL Offsite Manufacturing strategic plan in alignment with company goals working in partnership with business units and market segments.
* Leverage partnerships with key stakeholders to facilitate growth and development of Offsite Manufacturing opportunities.
* Set Offsite Manufacturing vision, priorities, overall organizational business plan, financial goals, KPI's, and strategy in collaboration with Innovation, Procurement, and Corporate Development teams.
* Present Offsite Manufacturing strategic plan, inclusive of requests for resources, timelines and strategic milestones to achieve effective implementation, to xPL leadership team.
* Collaborate with Business Development teams to support pursuits leveraging Offsite Manufacturing benefits and capabilities to differentiate Turner during sales process and/or enhance performance and/or profitability after securing contract.
* Design and develop Offsite Manufacturing processes and lead teams to facilitate successful implementations at BU level.
* Promote and advocate for Offsite Manufacturing and establish meaningful and long-term relationships with stakeholders, including leadership, clients, external manufacturers, and subcontractors.
* Lead and develop culture of continuous learning of new technologies to increase team awareness, understanding, and respective potential value-add to local business strategies working in collaboration with Preconstruction Management team, Innovation Champions, and various subject matter experts. Leverage new technology knowledge to facilitate conversations related to growth opportunities for Offsite Manufacturing operations through company.
* Establish constructive and effective relationships with project team members to facilitate knowledge sharing of Offsite Manufacturing to influence design and overall project development.
* Design strategy for supply chain and vendor development program in alignment with xPL Offsite Manufacturing goals.
* Lead by example and foster environment of diversity and inclusion to develop high-performing teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring of staff.
* Deliver timely performance feedback for teams and execute/contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle.
* Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program and minimum of 15 years of building construction experience required, experience with Offsite Manufacturing preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
* Thorough knowledge of emerging Offsite Construction technologies and related applications in cost, scheduling, estimating, and coordination principles
* Advanced knowledge of construction and manufacturing processes across all trades, means and methods, and materials their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances
* Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules
* Proficient in leading-edge construction technologies such as Building Information Models (BIM) and lean
* Proficient computer skills, Microsoft suite of applications, and familiar with construction management applications
* Display leadership qualities and management skills with ability to teach and mentor staff
* Excellent business acumen and critical thinking skills to assess and solve problems and conflicts
* Excellent interpersonal communication and professional presentation and persuasion skills to confidently engage and influence senior management and other stakeholders

Loads/unloads materials
Stacks/moves lumber
Assists in assembling fence panels and other products using nail gun
Attaches product tag labels to merchandise, material, or product with hand held industrial stapler machine
Checks items for proper identification
Reports quality deficiencies, shortages, and/or damaged goods
Keeps record of inventory and check items for proper identification
Ensures continued movement of lumber on conveyors
Regularly required to stand for extended periods and use hands to handle materials
Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED preferred
Previous production experience preferred
Lumber experience a plus!

Position Overview
The Director of Field Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all field construction activities for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. This position ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of project deliverables while managing field teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining compliance with project specifications, budgets, and schedules. This position requires routine and extensive travel to construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Management
* Provide strategic direction and leadership for all field operations on EPC project sites.
* Develop and implement field operations strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize project delivery.
* Lead, mentor, and develop field management teams including construction managers, superintendents, and field engineers.
* Establish performance metrics and KPIs to monitor field productivity, quality, and safety outcomes.
* Foster collaboration, communication, and accountability between field and corporate teams.
Safety & Compliance
* Champion a culture of safety excellence and ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations, Client specific requirements, and company safety policies.
* Conduct regular site safety audits and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure all field operations comply with environmental regulations and permit requirements.
* Maintain zero-incident safety record through proactive risk management and training programs.
Quality Assurance & Control
* Enforce quality standards for all field construction activities and identify any gaps in compliance or control.

Project Execution & Coordination

* Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions.

Budget & Cost Management
* Develop and manage field operations budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within approved cost parameters.
* Monitor field costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement value engineering solutions.
* Review and approve field change orders, extra work requests, and cost estimates.
* Optimize labor productivity and equipment utilization to maximize project profitability.
* Optimize field team overhead costs to maximize project profitability.
Stakeholder Management
* Serve as primary point of contact for field-related matters with clients, owners, and regulatory agencies.
* Conduct regular site meetings with stakeholders to review progress, address concerns, and coordinate activities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Represent the company at client meetings, project reviews, and industry events.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
* Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in EPC construction, with at least 5 years in senior field leadership roles.
* Ability to travel routinely to construction sites.
* Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale EPC projects on time and within budget.
* Expert knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and best practices for EPC projects.
* Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
* Knowledge of relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
* Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
