The Linux/Unix Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of Linux and Unix-based systems within the organization's IT infrastructure. This role ensures the stability, security, and optimal performance of all Linux/Unix servers, supporting critical applications and services. The administrator will work with a variety of operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, and Ubuntu.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on physical and virtual servers.
Support system integration efforts related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A), including infrastructure consolidation, data migration, and application alignment across acquired entities.
Apply system patches, upgrades, and security updates in a timely manner to reduce vulnerabilities.

About the role
As Nourish's first GTM Systems Engineer at Nourish, you'll sit at the intersection of business systems, data, and engineering. You'll be building the connective tissue that powers our go-to-market engine and as our first hire, you'll establish and lay the foundation for our fast-growing GTM engine.
Reporting directly to our co-founder and CTO, Stephanie, you'll partner closely with GTM, finance, and data stakeholders. FM Global is currently seeking a senior consultant engineer with experience in industrial and commercial property field risk consulting.
This position is based in the Greater Chicago area (working remotely from a home office) and reporting to the FM Global Chicago office.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of a Consultant Engineer include:
Identify property hazards (such as fire, explosion, and natural catastrophe hazards) at insured client facilities and deliver practical solutions to minimize or eliminate the hazard.
Communicate key risks and priorities to support clients in making sound risk management decisions based on what matters most to their business.
Apply consistent risk assessment and risk mitigation guidance, based on use of FM Global Property Loss Prevention Data Sheets and company operating procedures, with an attention to technical detail.
Prepare technical engineering reports, with sound engineering-based judgements, decisions, and technical writing to document conclusions.
Collaborate with various departments such as Operations Engineering, Client Services, Account Management and Underwriting on risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies.
Develop long-lasting relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor and consultant within your field.
Work from a home office, while managing time, meeting report delivery timelines, and working independently with minimal supervision.
Expected overnight travel once fully trained is 10% or less. Typical travel responsibilities will be concentrated in a 2 to 3-hour radius around your home office with occasional overnight travel to portions of Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana. Travel during the training period could be higher depending on location and availability of the designated training mentors. The initial training period is 12-16 months.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering (various engineering disciplines considered).
Technical aptitude, knowledge of engineering principles, a sound problem-solving approach, and an eagerness to learn across a broad range of industries and types of hazards.
Preferred 5 years' experience in industrial and commercial
property field risk consulting. Loss control/risk engineering experience within the insurance industry. Title and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Experience in process safety practices and safety devices. Familiarity with sprinkler protection is a plus.
Independent and focused within a home office environment, with strong planning and time management skills. Enjoys working independently.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills, geared towards a consulting role.

A valid driver's license is required, a company car is provided. This is a field-based role and will require travel to large, complex industrial client sites.

What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of network experience.
Proven experience managing large and complex networks.
Proficiency in networking and voice protocols, including TCP/IP, VoIP, DNS, and DHCP.
Strong understanding of wireless infrastructure.
Knowledge of installing and troubleshooting various cable types, including copper and fiber optic.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with others.
CCNA or equivalent certifications are preferred.
The pay range for this role is $65,000-70,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, 401K retirement plan with company match, paid time off and commuter benefits.
