**The Job You Will Perform:**
+ Supports managers and employees at the facility in Human Resource-related areas. This is a non-exempt position that reports to the Complex General Manager with dotted line reporting to the Human Resource Business Partner.
+ Coordinates selection processes for hourly and salaried positions including posting with and outreach to the local Workforce Development and other organizations; communication with authorized staffing agencies; sourcing, screening, and corresponding with applicants; conducting pre-employment assessments and reference checks; maintenance of all recruiting files. Coordinates orientation and onboarding activities for new hires.
+ Maintains the Affirmative Action Planning system, including maintaining annual logs for internal job postings, hires, terminations, separations, and promotions; completion of the annual AAP. Ensure the facility maintains full compliance with all aspects required of a federal contractor.
+ Makes presentations to employees and contractors regarding policies and work rules that apply to all individuals who work at our location.
+ Maintains the accuracy and security of all HR-related files in accordance with the records retention policy including employee personnel files, medical files, and I-9's.
+ Maintains logs for disciplinary action, training, vacation, etc. Maintains the accuracy of shared files and databases.
+ Ensures timely and accurate processing of human resource-related forms; researches and furnishes employee information to authorized persons as appropriate; and handles human resource-related questions.
+ Thorough knowledge of local pay practices, pay levels, job groups, and manages the interface with Oracle and the plant hourly payroll system. Ensures hourly employees are coded accurately by job classification, jobs performed, shift, and department assignment.
+ Completes hourly attendance tracking on a daily basis, initiates disciplinary action when needed, communicates issues, and prepares attendance reports.
+ Working knowledge of all benefits for hourly and salaried employees. Assists with open enrollment meetings. Serves as a resource to employees in resolving benefits-related issues and concerns. Supports processes related to FMLA, disabilities, and return to work.
+ Processes all unemployment-related claims or other activities related to unemployment claims.
+ Surfaces employee concerns and improvements; recommends alternatives for resolution of problems as appropriate; acts as a liaison between the individual employee, facility managers, Region Human Resource Manager, and company or community resources in maintaining a highly engaged, union-free work environment.
+ May perform additional duties as assigned to support the Finance functions such as accounts receivable/payable, invoicing, order entry, payroll, and related administrative duties in support of plant operations.
+ Coordinate facility functions including employee recognition, service awards, safety, and holiday-related events.
+ Assists in organizing presentation materials, coordinating meeting and catering arrangements, maintaining bulletin boards, and other assignments as required.

Job Description
The Technical Service Specialist provides on-site and remote support for both RRD production operations and clients within the Packaging Platform. This role ensures optimal performance of production equipment, assists in troubleshooting production issues at both the client and RRD locations, and supports clients in achieving high-quality output and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with R&D and sales teams to support new product introductions and resolve client concerns
Travel to client (or potential client) locations to investigate performance issues, isolate defective material, provide recommended corrective resolution and complete required documentation regarding the issue
Advise clients and key stakeholders on improved methods (equipment set up and support, troubleshooting equipment trials, etc...)
Conduct product trials and product testing to evaluate materials and ensure compatibility with production specifications for both RRD and the client
Coordinate travel to existing and potential accounts to conduct machine audits and collect performance information prior to the shipments of trial rolls. Ensure the distribution of the collected information to the appropriate Technical Department personnel
Troubleshoot existing problems involving designs, materials, and processes and provide creative cost-effective solutions
Maintain detailed records of service calls, technical reports, and customer communications
Collaborate with client Technical Project Managers on analyzing vendor designs for manufacturing proposals and proactively mitigating potential manufacturing risk from design submissions
Interacts with customers, suppliers, vendors, and division personnel regarding quality and production issues
Assists in the development of procedures and techniques for reducing process variation
Assists manufacturing personnel in establishing standards of quality to be used and certifying that established company and industry standards have been met
Identify cost-saving opportunities related to materials, design, labor, and efficiency
Qualifications
4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Related field.
5+ years hands-on experience in a technical support role within the folding carton or packaging industry
Mechanical skills/experience setting up equipment, running troubleshooting trials
Advanced training or experience in cGMPs, and ISO
Ability to understand and interpret federal regulations and company operating procedures as they apply to printing regulated product and quality issue
Experience operating packaging equipment is preferred
Must be able to prioritize and multi-task with minimal supervision
Knowledge of PC systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

RRD's current salary range for this role is $77,900 to $124,600 / year. * Roll paper into loading position on automatic splicer, insert shaft of automatic splicer through roll core, secure holding chucks of automatic splicer to shaft ends, and thread paper through press components to prepare press for printing.
* Apply adhesive strip to backup roll and insert backup roll onto an automatic splicing unit of press to prepare paper for automatic splicing.
* Remove roll of leftover paper from press after automatic splicing.
* May operate a mechanical truck to transport rolls of paper to press area.
* May assist with some of the make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates, examining plates, prepping and installing blankets, adjusting tension etc.
* May clean press and clean and install press components to maintain press in working order.
* May prepare and prepares and loads flat stock into a sheet-fed press.
