The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
Assist with event logistics for information sessions, receptions, and selection committee meetings, helping to prepare materials for distribution, and providing other logistical support,

Setting and Reporting This position is located in the DC2 Renovation Project, Planning Design and Construction Section (PDCS), Facilities and Commercial Activities Service (FCAS), Division of Administration (DOA), Department of Operational Support (DOS). The Department of Operational Support was established to provide operational advisory services to operating entities across the Secretariat, including other departments, offices away from headquarters, field missions, and regional commissions. The department has embarked on the DC2 Project, which is a multi-year Capital Renovation project to convert 25 floors of the DC2 building into flexible workspace. The Facilities and Commercial Activities Service (FCAS) operates the Headquarters complex, striving to provide effective and efficient planning, management, maintenance and operation of all existing physical facilities and assets at UN Headquarters, New York. FCAS also supports office and conference facilities, property management, travel and transportation services, archives and records management, mail and pouch operations, catering, giftshop and the United Nations Postal Administration. The incumbent reports directly to the Senior Project Officer of the DC2 Project.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Officer, the Space Planning Officer shall be responsible for leading intensive space planning activities, including needs assessments, swing space planning, final space allocations, and related relocation moves. The incumbent shall be responsible for engaging with offices and departments to develop a strategic brief outlining short- and long-term goals and space requirements; developing detailed move plans from existing locations to temporary spaces and from temporary spaces to final locations; assessing swing space needs and final space allocations, considering staff grades, team co-location, and departmental interdependencies. The Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) provides leadership, operational support and oversight of the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) globally. Position Summary
CFR Outreach works to raise the profile of CFR and develop relationships with communities across the United States. Current initiatives focus on college and university students, educators, and administrators; state and local officials; local journalists; and congregational leaders and representatives of faith-based organizations.
Under the direction of the State and Local Officials Initiative lead and the vice president and director of the National Program and Outreach department, the program associate supports the work of the State and Local Officials Initiative, which builds relationships and provides programming, forums for discussion and the sharing of best practices, and resources for elected officials across the country.
This full-time position is based in CFR's New York City office on a hybrid basis. CFR currently defines hybrid status as working at least three days a week onsite, with Tuesdays and Thursdays considered institutional anchor days where all staff are required to be onsite.
The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
Supporting the CFR State and Local Officials Initiative virtual and in-person programmatic offerings and events, which include a webinar series, briefings with CFR experts, at least one annual foreign policy forum, and CFR representation at external conferences and professional gatherings across the country.
Tasks include administrative support for scheduling events, initiating and editing draft correspondence including event invitations and thank you notes, preparing meeting materials, and contributing to reports for initiative activities.
Supporting CFR communications and content dissemination efforts by updating webpages, preparing email campaign templates-including newsletters and surveys-and placing advertisements.
Collecting qualitative and quantitative data across program offerings for reporting purposes and strategic decision-making.
Maintaining CFR databases with accurate contact and participation information for state and local officials, their staff, and appropriate contacts at local government associations and convening organizations, scheduling meetings, taking and circulating meeting notes, and compiling follow-up tasks and action items.
Collaborating on a monthly newsletter for state and local officials featuring a curated selection of CFR content.
Writing and scheduling social media posts and sustaining online engagement across various CFR channels and platforms.
Researching annual conferences and opportunities that align with initiative goals.
Coordinating across departments and with external partner organizations to align schedules, assist with event execution, and share information relevant to multiple crosscutting projects.
Providing general project support to the department, including attending and working at events held outside of business hours.

Education
Bachelor's degree in international relations or related field and proven interest in current U.S. foreign policy and international affairs issues.
Experience

The Assistant Editor, David M. Rubenstein Editorial Fellow has substantial responsibilities and is involved in all aspects of
Foreign Affairs
' editorial process. Previous assistant editors have gone on to careers in a variety of fields, including journalism, academia, and government.
The position lasts for one year, beginning in the summer of 2026, and is based in CFR's New York City office on a hybrid basis. CFR currently defines hybrid status as working at least three days a week onsite, with Tuesdays and Thursdays considered institutional anchor days where all staff are required to be onsite.

This initiative, implemented by UN DESA, aims at strengthening the capacity of local government officials and future public asset managers to design and implement a risk-informed and whole-of-government approach to sustainable Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM). The project provides comprehensive training for public officials in The Bahamas, equipping them with the skills to design, implement, monitor, and refine forward-looking, data-driven IAM strategies, policies, and action plans. In this context, FSDO will engage the services of a national consultant to provide substantive support to the implementation of project activities in close coordination with relevant government officials and other stakeholders, international consultants and UN DESA staff. The national consultant's role is to provide local contextualization, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and contribute to the design, adaptation, implementation and follow-up to all IAM project activities in The Bahamas. Work Assignments Under the supervision of the Senior Economic Affairs Officer, International Tax and Development Cooperation Branch (ITDCB), Financing for Sustainable Development Office (FSDO), the national consultant will be responsible for the following work assignments: 1. Design and implement diagnostic activities in six local governments, including liaising with focal points to confirm participating entities and contacts, developing an implementation schedule and stakeholder engagement plan with national authorities, and reviewing existing sectoral or national frameworks relevant to IAM in The Bahamas to contextualize the assessment. 2. Apply the UN IAM Diagnostic Tool to six select local governments, including supporting self-assessments by participating entities, conducting on-site interviews and document reviews, guiding staff in identifying current practices, roles, systems, and gaps across policy, finance, climate risks, and service delivery, and ensuring meaningful participation from technical, financial, and leadership personnel. 3. Analyze and prepare Asset Management Profiles, including analyzing diagnostic data to develop findings and recommendations, drafting customized 30 page profiles for each entity summarizing practices, strengths, gaps, and priority reforms, and presenting draft profiles for review and feedback by the UN IAM team. 4. Provide substantive input to the preparation of training content, including reviewing relevant training materials and coordinating with the international consultant on delivery plans; identifying national policies, strategies, data systems, and institutional arrangements relevant to IAM; compiling local case studies, examples, and challenges for each training topic; and customizing training materials by integrating national references to ensure relevance for participating entities. 5. Deliver and co-facilitate two in-country workshops, including introducing national institutional, legal, and policy frameworks to contextualize IAM principles; providing local examples of IAM application or challenges; facilitating discussions, Q&A sessions, and peer learning by linking international concepts with local realities; assisting in the interpretation of technical content; and guiding participants through practical exercises on action planning (AMAPs), data challenges, climate risk assessments, and portfolio management. 6. Provide substantive support to the implementation of AMAPs, including visiting each participating entity to review and refine the AMAPs developed during the workshop; coordinating pre-visit planning and preparing tailored support checklists; conducting meetings with leadership and staff to validate priority actions and assess feasibility, data quality, and institutional roles; providing technical advice on operationalizing AMAP pillars, integrating actions into budgets and workplans, and mobilizing internal or external support; facilitating working sessions to assign responsibilities; and drafting mission notes summarizing findings, revised action items, immediate next steps, and identified support needs. 7. Provide substantive support to the two workshops on the national enabling environment, including collaborating with the international instructor to adapt training materials to the national context; reviewing national and subnational policy, legal, and institutional frameworks; identifying government strategies, plans, or legislative texts relevant to IAM; selecting examples of national asset management policies or mandates for discussion; and engaging key national stakeholders to ensure balanced participation. 8. Implement and co-facilitate workshops on the national enabling environment, including presenting the state of IAM policies and common implementation gaps; facilitating breakout sessions on policy design, alignment with national strategies, and integration of climate resilience; guiding participants in mapping institutional environments and identifying missing enabling factors; translating international practices into locally relevant language and approaches; and supporting post-workshop follow-up through participant feedback, recommendations for reforms, and contributions to the final workshop report.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced degree in engineering, business, project management, public administration, urban planning, economics, or related field is required. A bachelor's degree with two additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in infrastructure, infrastructure asset management (IAM), or urban development, with demonstrated expertise in areas such as asset inventories, lifecycle planning, service delivery, public sector investment planning, or institutional capacity development is required. Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and UN IAM tools is desirable. Familiarity with global asset management standards and geographic information systems (GIS), is desirable. Knowledge of The Bahamasan public sector and infrastructure systems is required.

This internship is designed for students with an interest in video content creation, social media marketing, or content analysis. Responsibilities:
The intern will learn and be exposed to:
Assisting in all aspects of video production workflow;

Acting as secretariat to the Committee on Contributions, the Contributions Section provides support to the Committee and the General Assembly in negotiating the scale of assessments and ensures the timely issuance of assessments and information on the status of assessed contributions. The Finance & Budget Officer reports to the Chief of Service, Finance.
Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Finance & Budget Officer will be responsible for the following duties: Programme plan: • Reviews, analyses and finalizes the preparation of the programme plan and its revisions on the basis of departmental submissions, taking into account recommendations and decisions of specialized inter-governmental bodies. Budget preparation: • Reviews and analyses data with respect to the finalization of cost estimates for cost recovery activities and budget proposals, in terms of staff and non-staff requirements from Departments/offices at Headquarters. • Provides support to managers with respect to the elaboration of resource requirements for budget submissions. • Provides substantive support to relevant intergovernmental and expert bodies in their budget review; assists in securing approval from the General Assembly. Budget administration: • Reviews cost plans for cost recovery activities and issues allotments/appropriations for cost recovery activities, including redeployment of funds when necessary, ensuring appropriate expenditures. • Monitors budget implementation and determines/recommends reallocation of funds when necessary. • Monitors expenditures to ensure that they remain within authorized levels. • Reviews all requisitions for goods and services to ensure correct objects of expenditure have been charged, ensuring availability of fund • Administers and monitors extra-budgetary resources, including review of agreements and cost plans, ensuring compliance with regulations and rules and established policies and procedures. • Prepares relevant documentation with respect to budget performance submissions. • Reviews and makes appropriate recommendations with respect to the finalization of budget performance reports, analysing variances between approved budgets and actual expenditures. Finance: • Analyses cost recovery accounts and reviews/evaluates regular financial reports at Headquarters, from Offices-away-from-Headquarters. Identifies variances, problem transactions and irregularities in related accounts, resolving them in a timely and effective manner. • Coordinates the processing of billing related to internal work orders, client support and external parties. • Approves/Confirms that proposed obligations or expenditure for cost recovery related services, facilities supplies and equipment expenses, as well as those pertaining to personnel, are in accordance with the Financial Regulations and Rules of the UN, relevant appropriations and staffing tables and corresponding approved allotments/appropriations. • Ensures that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained. • Provides advice and guidance concerning the United Nations' Financial Regulations and Rules and Accounting Instructions. • Works with the Master Data Management Team and service providers to establish the cost of services and maintains cost accounting master data, allocation rules, allocation cycles and statistical key figures. Provides authoritative interpretation of requirements for handling transactions. • Monitors the level of income received from cost recovery and advises senior management on availability of funds and possible corrective measures. • Defines requirements and works with systems units with respect to production of relevant financial reports. Coordinates the collections of statistical information from service providers, the analysis and summation of the statistics, and the billing of clients based on such statistics. • Provides information needed to respond to audit findings.
