Summer 2026 Internship - Benefits and Compensation What You'll Do: As a member of the Compensation & Employee Benefits team, you will be exposed to all health & welfare benefits, retirement, and compensation plans that Vulcan offers and provided with hands-on experiences in a variety of projects such as, participating in defined contribution and defined benefit plan audits, assisting in drafting and reviewing employee communications, learning various employee benefit plan administration processes and general customer service to Vulcan employees. Your assignment will be in Birmingham, Alabama, at Vulcan's corporate headquarters location. Responsibilities: * Develop, Design, Review, and Edit Communications. Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and edit employee communications content based on our benefit plans and current initiatives. * Participate in various Employee Benefits & Compensation Projects. * Engagement with employees through the Employee Benefits hotline and email inbox, including the intake of calls and emails, troubleshooting the request, and distributing to the SME for resolution. * Assist in the analysis and administration of compensation programs, including salary surveys, market research, and job evaluations. * Support the benefits team in the management and evaluation of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. * Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to compensation and benefits to support decision-making and strategy development.
