DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As the Education and Visitor Services Intern at Brandywine Battlefield Park, you will work with our Education and Visitor Services Departments to interpret our museum's collections, conduct education programs and summer camps, assist with special events, and work directly with the public.
Brandywine Battlefield Park has a small museum and two historic houses through which we interpretively focus on the Battle of Brandywine, the people who lived here, and how they were impacted by the battle. You will be expected to assist in conducting tours and programs including the summer camp program and to help with front desk operations. You may also have the opportunity to participate in a special project based on the interpretive and programmatic goals of the site, which may include research, as well as participate in other duties to support your interests and goals, in alignment with staff capabilities. Bring this pivotal part of American history to life with our team!
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
10 week internship, May 2026 through August 2026, approximately 225 to 300 hours
Work hours are flexible and will be finalized between selected interns and their supervisor.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Internship Requirements:
All applicants must be enrolled at a college or university in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of their internship.

You must be able and willing to report to Chadds Ford, PA during the Summer Keystone Internship dates, which will be a 10-week period between May 11 and August 21, 2026. Lodging and transportation are not provided.
You must be majoring, minoring, or have a concentration in History, American History, Public History, Museum Studies, or Education.
You must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.

What You Will Do:
The intern will be working on a research project to gain deeper understanding of the Y-14Q PPNR G2 Schedule and its underlying data structure. This project helps us to identify potential model improvements and refinement. The intern will engage with modeling teams to assess model assumptions, document findings, and provide recommendations.
The intern can help to build up interest income for loans' model performance monitoring process, including back-testing, stability testing, etc.
For the usage of non-confidential data to assess interest income spread modeling, the intern will be working on modeling the loan interest income rate spreads using Y-9C or call report. The focus is to explore how spreads vary across time and across portfolio, to explore correlations between spreads and macroeconomic indicators.

Assist in leasing apartments, maintaining a list of available apartments, responding to telephone inquiries, qualifying prospects, showing apartments, preparing all move-in paperwork, and accurately inputting traffic numbers daily.

Students are generally allowed reasonable flexibility for family or other obligations, so long as they complete the ten-week program and are compliant with the terms of any work study or other external funding they receive. There is a week of mandatory orientation the week of June 1-5, 2026.
Is the internship funded?

What are the work hours? What are the in-person requirements?
CLS operates Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Staff are expected to work in-person 2 days per week; however, students are encouraged to be in person more frequently as needed and to get the most out of their summer.
Do I get to choose which unit I work with? Can I work across multiple units?
Unit placements are assigned when we have filled our full class of interns - usually in April. When students accept their internship, they rank their top 3 units. With rare exceptions, we are able to place students in one of their top 3 choices but cannot guarantee placement in any unit.
Students are encouraged to staff CLS clinics for other units and can shadow another unit if they express an interest, but are generally assigned to one unit for the entirety of their summer work.
What if I want to work in the Housing Unit?
Our housing unit prioritizes 2L students, especially from Philadelphia-area law schools. We encourage housing-focused students to apply for their 2L summer!
