Aquila's Spring 2026 Fitness Specialist Intern will gain first- hand experience by assisting members in safe and effective exercise programs and perform a wide range of duties in a health/fitness center, under the supervision of the site manager. The program provides students with a well rounded experience in all aspects of health & fitness in a professional setting. As a Fitness Specialist Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn how to do the following:

ABOUT THE JOB
Office Administration at Energy Shrink involves two main roles: (1) maintain daily office operations, and (2) support business development. We call these the wheels of the Energy Shrink bus that must keep turning regardless of what projects we are working on. Your job is to keep the wheels on and turning!
You will get exposure to many facets of small business operations in a collaborative environment and work with seasoned consultants. However, this is a small business which requires a willingness to work on an odd assortment of jobs. Depending on the day, you may be wearing an office admin or executive assistant hat.
Some examples of tasks an office administrator regularly performs at Energy Shrink include scheduling, vendor research, event planning, note-taking in meetings, interacting with clients and contract officers, to managing the team's timesheets, depositing a check, picking up a package, and recording business cards. If you have unique skills that allow you to take on other tasks, your role may expand (e.g., you may be good at social media, or helping with MS Word reports).
EXAMPLES OF TASKS
1. Daily office operations include administrative tasks such as monitoring expenses, contractor payments and rent, creating and maintaining SOPs, and maintaining certifications unique to a women-owned small business. These tasks require attention to deadlines, agile thinking, and dogged follow-ups to stay on top of.

Field Production: Handles audio, lighting and camera operation for events that take place in Washington or on the road and executes set-up and breakdown of equipment.
Program Producers: Develop specific live and taped public affairs programs that air on C-SPAN, C-SPAN2 and C-SPAN3. These programs include Q&A, international programming, politics and special projects.
3. Content/TV Networks: This department is responsible for getting C-SPAN's product on the air. The editorial, technical, and information systems staff work closely together to ensure quality, balanced programming.
Editorial: Develops the daily schedule, tracks House and Senate floor debate, and coordinates elements for the final programming that airs on C-SPAN. Script writing, voice-overs, and writing and choosing Capital News headlines are just some of the responsibilities of this unit.
Technical: Works around the clock and is responsible for all the technical aspects of getting C-SPAN and C-SPAN2 on air 24 hours-a-day, including program direction, master control, camera operation, lighting and sound, editing, and on-air promotions.
4. Information Systems: Responsible for C-SPAN's information technology infrastructure, including local and wide area networks, servers and desktops and all commercial and custom applications.

Research Interns - The Schroeder Institute will contribute to the department's research projects. Examples of past tasks of interns include conducting literature searches for projects, testing online surveys, content analysis (e.g., social media surveillance), and preparing results. About the Site
Greenbelt Park is a 1,100-acre urban forest in Prince George's County, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C. The park features wooded trails, open fields, and a year-round campground, with administrative offices and visitor contact areas on site. Summer weather is typically hot, humid, and occasionally stormy; spring and fall are milder. Interns should expect regular outdoor work in variable conditions.
The park is close to everyday services. Grocery stores, pharmacies, and other essential shops in Greenbelt and College Park are 5-10 minutes away by car or transit. Several hospitals and urgent care centers are within a reasonable driving radius in the D.C. metro area.
Greenbelt is part of a diverse suburban region with strong Hispanic/Latinx communities nearby, particularly in Hyattsville, Langley Park, Adelphi, Riverdale, and parts of College Park. These neighborhoods include families who frequently use Greenbelt Park for picnics, gatherings, and informal recreation, making the park an important and accessible green space for local Hispanic/Latinx residents.

Public Land Corps Non-Competitive Hiring Authority (PLC)
The Public Land Corps Non-Competitive Hiring Authority is a special hiring authority available to qualifying interns. The intern must be between the ages of 18 and 30 years old, inclusive, or a veteran up to age 35 and complete 640 hours of work on an appropriate conservation project to be eligible for this hiring authority. Upon successful completion of the PLC project(s), the intern is eligible for two years to be hired non-competitively into a federal seasonal, term, or permanent position. Job Description
The HopeLink Behavioral Health Internship Program is intended to provide Masters level students in clinical programs opportunities to obtain clinical experience and develop clinical skills in a non-profit agency setting. Under the direction of the internship or practicum supervisor on site, the Counseling or Social Work Intern will provide clinical counseling, clinical social work and/or psychosocial rehabilitation services to adolescent clients and/or adult clients as outlined by school requirements.
GENERAL DUTIES:
1. Participate in staff meetings to share and stay up to date on important clinical issues, program changes and to engage in case consultation.
2. Assist with the planning and completion of special projects as assigned by supervisor and/or Program Manager.
3. Shadow the completion of comprehensive needs assessments. Complete assessments independently, or with direct supervisor/other staff, as assigned.
4. Complete clinical documentation within program guidelines
5. Participate in individual, group and/or peer supervision as required by school and site program guidelines
6. Participate in treatment team meetings for client with other providers and/or family members as assigned
7. Complete internship hours on site (NOT a hybrid position even if telehealth services are provided) within the operating hours of the Program
1. Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program (8:00am - 4:00pm)
2. Outpatient Therapy Program (9:00am - 5:00pm, some evening hours available)
PROGRAM SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Psychosocial Rehabilitation Programs
1. Co-facilitate or facilitate psychoeducational groups and activities for adults 18+ with diagnoses of serious mental illness, substance use disorders, mild intellectual disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder.
2. Support with milieu management, keeping clients engaged in program activities and prompting clients to group or to use coping skills as needed.
3. Provide brief, focused, individualized counseling to clients in alignment with their treatment goals.
Outpatient Therapy Program
1. Complete diagnostic assessments to determine DSM-5-TR diagnosis and appropriate course of treatment
2. Develop and implement treatment plan in collaboration with the client
3. Shadow individual and/or group counseling sessions (in person and video telehealth) with adults and/or. Independently conduct individual counseling sessions, and/or co-conduct group counseling sessions as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be currently enrolled in an accredited, Masters level program for Social Work, Counseling, or a related discipline.
2. Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
3. Strong professional collaboration skills and the ability to work with others in the behavioral health field to achieve positive client outcomes.
4. Computer experience and proficiency using internet based applications, including Microsoft Office applications.
5. Maturity and ability to seek support and feedback from supervisor and other staff as needed.
6. Must have a reliable source of transportation to and from internship site.
7. Must be prompt, professional and reliable.
8. Understanding of confidentiality and privacy issues within a behavioral health program.
9. High degree of empathy toward the clients we serve.

Responsibilities Duties can include writing news stories for the monthly print issue of the newspaper or for its web version, developing story ideas and attending press conferences and congressional hearings.
