Interstates is currently in search of a Project Coordinator Intern for the summer of 2023 in Lubbock, TX that is currently working on their degree in Construction Management. Your role will be to provide direct support to the Project Manager or the department under the direction of the Project Manager. Working under direct supervision, the Project Coordinator Intern aids in the phase(s) of project management defined in the essential duties section.

Responsibilities



Assist the Project Manager and jobsite leadership in managerial and leadership functions on the project Run project control systems for the benefit of the project team CPM schedule creation and updating/communicating Last Planner/White Board crew scheduling RFI's, submittals, meeting minutes, and other site communication Act as a project analyst; assess project controls information and assist jobsite leadership in problem solving and alternate methods to achieve project success Provide estimating take-offs and other support for analysis and change orders Attend client meetings onsite and collaborate with trade contractors Prepare information for, and participate in, monthly project reviews Assist in procurement and expediting of materials and subcontracts Promote the Interstates safety culture daily


Qualifications



Education:
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical or Construction Management, Engineering, or a two year degree in related fields.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel will be required and will vary according to jobsite needs and assigned duties.

The Opportunity:

The Internship Coordinator (IC) is fully accountable for the pilot year revision and implementation of the Internship Program at one of Mastery's campuses. Formerly offered to only 10th grade students, this role will expand the traditional functions of a Mastery IC - mentor accrual, mentor and student training, and successful placement of students in internships that inform their postsecondary goals - to students in 10th-12th grade. Additionally, this role will build and implement a student participation tracking system and student readiness assessment to manage the program. The IC is a combined Instructor and Administrator position and is a member of the school's college team which includes an 11th grade College Coordinator and a 12th grade College Advisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and implement new tracking and assessment systems for student readiness and participation monitoring of internship completion for students in grades 10-12Create productive relationships and partnerships with approximately 100+ mentorship sites from a wide variety of professional industries Create an internship readiness curriculum portfolio to be taught in a practicum setting Build, maintain, and regularly communicate with a robust database of mentors and professional contacts to sustain the internship program for placements, site visits and Career DaySustain mentor participation and satisfaction of the program Effectively market Mastery and the Internship Program across Mastery and the wider Philadelphia community Plan, coordinate, and host events such as Career Day, Mentor Appreciation Night and Mentor BreakfastsTeach Internship Training and Practicum courses guiding students to understand resume writing and interviewing skills as well as workplace etiquette, roles and responsibilities Assist students in relating their abilities and interests to appropriate internship placements. Match approximately 100 students and 100 mentors for highest impact Coordinate field trips, guest speakers, mock interviews and transportation for Internship program Meet with students to review workplace progress and plans for graduation Track students' progress in the internship classroom and during the practicum experience by conducting site visits and communicating with mentorship sites Support students to find, apply and access summer opportunities through pre-college programs and internships
Qualifications:Ability to design, test and implement new systems with a spirit of continuous improvement Extremely strong organizational skills including detailed database work and event planning Ability to work autonomously and build relationships with internal stakeholders to enhance program development Ability to document students' academic progress Ability to work and communicate effectively with students, teachers, administrators, businesses and organizations Strong understanding of workplace best practices of interviewing, resume writing, and professional communication Knowledge of public education and charter schools highly desirable but not required Excels in problem solving, has a sense of humor and has a desire to provide only the highest quality education for students
Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) with one year of experience in education (urban education experience preferred) School-based teaching experience for groups of 25-30 students, using curricula and designing lesson plans Strong administrative or business background that reflects strong management and communication and marketing skills
Physical Requirements:Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required such as maneuvering in classrooms and office space-reaching file cabinets, filing, faxing, scanning, coping, typing, mailing, and making phone calls; Must be able to sit for up to two (2) hours looking at a computer monitor, using a keyboard/mouse and typing.
Other Requirements:This position will require travel within the city to visit other Internship Program sites. Must be able to travel via public transportation or by personal vehicle.

Summary of responsibilities of the Intern:

* Review and assess historical ERCOT resource and transmission outages and assess the reliability impact to the ERCOT grid.

Preferred Experience:

* Understanding of power system basics and power flow analysis
* Understanding of database and data analysis
* Familiar with the power system analysis tool, including but not limited PowerWorld, PSS/e, or DSA Tools
* Familiar with programming language, including but not limited Python, VBA, SQL,

Desired Educational Level (Degrees earned or being sought by the Candidate)

* Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering

Preferred work schedule of the intern:

* 40 hours a week / Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
* Summer 2023

This program is a paid learning experience for students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (no exceptions) and who have at least completed their sophomore year of college studies. Students who apply must be enrolled in a bachelor or postgraduate degree program at a school listed in the U.S. Department of Education's Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs with plans to enroll in classes the following semester . Graduate students are highly encouraged to apply. A relocation stipend is available to out-of-town candidates if the job is required to be on-site.
