The program offers students unique opportunities to contribute to real-world projects and make meaningful industry connections.     Provide support to the EPCC-UTEP Humanities Collaborative grant by participating as interns in various community-based internship positions located at art and humanities workplaces (e.g., museums, galleries, studios, and community or campus organizations). Course study or career goals must be related to humanities field of study. Program Description: The Humanities Collaborative grant is a partnership between El Paso Community College (EPCC) and the University of Texas at El Paso to work together to strengthen existing ties between the two institutions, to engage in collaborative mentoring of students and faculty across the institutions in humanities research and teaching, and to raise the profile of the humanities in our border region through innovative, student and faculty driven humanities programming. An important outcome of the grant will be an increased flow of humanities students through both institutions. Perform developmental and rotational assignments at community-based internship locations by observing the job functions of assigned workplace contact. Perform and assist workplace contact with job duties, appropriate to the intern's background (education and experience). Assist in coordinating event planning, such as exhibits and concerts. Participate or lead workplace events. Assist with the promotion of humanities programming. Report intern experiences to grant Principal Investigator (PI) and co-PI's. Assist PI and co-PI's in other grant functions related to supporting department goals. Assist in the design and facilitation of workshops. Perform other duties as assigned.
