Job Description
The Internship program is designed to teach participants how to organize, and be a part of the coaching staff - from operational tasks to hands-on coaching. Our primary goal is exposure to a performance process through a structured theoretical and practical based education approach accredited by our academic partner Auckland University Technology
- Sports Performance Research Institute of New Zealand, outlined on page 2.
Breakdown of Role
- Coaching (70-80%) - On training floor
- Administration (5-10%) - Assist in facility administration
- Training Strands Development (5-10%) - Assist in performance coach projects when requested
- Staff Education (10%) - Structured ATH-C internship education curriculum
Qualification and Experience:
Currently enrolled in an exercise science, sports science, kinesiology or health-related degree.
Bachelor's degree in exercise science, sports science, kinesiology or health-related field.
Volunteer coaching experience in any field.
Basic IT skills to use various administrative applications (i.e. Microsoft Office).

Personal Circumstances:

ATH Internship Curriculum Overview
Athlete Training and Health offers two forms of internship opportunities ATH Volunteer (ATH-V) Internship and ATH
Certified (ATH-C) Internship. Both are 12-week curriculums designed to provide hands-on practical coaching experience, supported by three educational monthly modules. Each consists of four weekly sub-sections focusing on both theoretical and practical application led by a coach within the training center. Each applicant will have the opportunity to choose what internship they wish to pursue:
Participants of the ATH-V internship are required to work 20-30 scheduled hours per week and can voluntarily avail of all educational modules and topics. Upon completion of the ATH-V internship, applicants can apply to complete the ATH-C internship in an unpaid capacity.
Participants of the ATH-C internship will be required to work a scheduled 30-40 hours per week with mandatory attendance required during module overviews, weekly topics and will be continually assessed on a competency-based model. Upon completion of the ATH-C internship successful applicants may apply to ATH partner University, Auckland University of Technology to avail of Postgraduate Masters Credit. Upon successful completion of the ATH-C internship applicants may be considered for available part time on or off site assistant performance coach positions or upcoming full time ATH-C Mentorship performance coach positions.
Module I - The Art of Coaching
The first module of the internship will increase the interns hands-on coaching experience. All interns will be exposed to different coaching environments and should effectively be able to assist performance coaches in every offering of the
Student and Forever ATHlete programs by the end of module 1. The learning emphasis will focus on upskilling coaches both practically and theoretically on warm ups, cool downs, progressions and regressions for plyometric, speed and strength exercises.
Module II - Enhancing Athletic Capabilities
The second module of the internship will increase the interns' ability to assess, interpret and prescribe exercise in line with the ATH training philosophy for all aspects of the Student and Forever ATHlete program as it pertains to warm up, speed agility and quickness (SAQ) and strength related activities. As interns show increased proficiency in both their understanding of the curriculum and implementation in their coaching, they will have increased opportunities to lead more of the training sessions.
Module III - Developing a Professional Coaching Brand
The third module of the internship focuses on building the interns professional portfolio. Specific professional activities such as reviewing each intern's resume and cover letters, facilitating off-site visits and guest speakers will help to
promote networking and industry exposure. The internship will conclude with a final reflective presentation on a topic of their choice approved by a senior coach to aid the intern's presentation and communication skills.

Ensure compliance with all corporate procedures and guidelines. Make sure that annual required training is completed on time.
Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.

Learn to reads, and interprets electric generating plants P&ID's and CWD's to locate, identify, troubleshoot, and repair plant systems, interlocks, etc.
Uses test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters electronic bridges, loop calibrators) and hand tools (i.e. drills, screwdrivers) as necessary to troubleshoot and maintain devices and systems for the power plant.
Learn proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.
Completes all written and electronic records ( i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed.
Learn power plant layout and system operations.

YOUR ROLE
The Corporate Immigration Intern supports the company's immigration program by assisting with the preparation, tracking, and coordination of work visa and immigration processes. This role offers hands-on experience in employment-based immigration, providing exposure to case management, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration with HR, external legal counsel, and mobility team. Law Student Academic Interns are not paid a salary and can work a maximum of 40 hours per week during the summer internship term. Fall interns will work completely in- person during our 8 week internship program. HCDAO does not offer remote internships. If you are chosen and you are bar card eligible, you will be required to obtain you bar card once you assigned to a supervising attorney.
If you are chosen for an HCDAO Internship position, your file will be sent to our investigators for a full background check. Once it is complete, your file will go to the HCDAO HR Director for final review and approval.
As part of the HCDAO academic internship process, you will need to attend an in-person orientation prior to your start date which is scheduled for: FRIDAY, June 05, 2026. Info on location and time TBD.
Divisions are assigned on an as needed bases. Most interns will be assigned to either the Misdemeanor and Felony Division. Another large group of interns will also be assigned to the Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking, Sex Crimes, and Crimes Against Children Division. **Essential Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.
+ Learn environmental rules and regulations, and effectively apply them to all work situations.
+ Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain protective relays, computers, metering, monitoring, and control systems on boilers, turbines, generators, and plant auxiliary equipment. In shop location includes performing benchwork and component troubleshooting.
+ Learn to reads, and interprets electric generating plants P&ID's and CWD's to locate, identify, troubleshoot, and repair plant systems, interlocks, etc.
+ Uses test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters electronic bridges, loop calibrators) and hand tools (i.e. drills, screwdrivers) as necessary to troubleshoot and maintain devices and systems for the power plant.
+ Learn proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.
+ Completes all written and electronic records ( i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed.
+ Learn power plant layout and system operations.
+ Continually updates knowledge of plant systems and instrumentation.
+ Makes decisions about how best to repair equipment and what resources (tools, time equipment) will be needed.
+ Employee must arrange own transportation to work location and may be reassigned to another location at the Company's discretion.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Associates' Degree or equivalent education in instrumentation, pneumatics, engineering, or a related technical discipline
+ OR
+ Two (2) years military experience in electronics repair and calibration may be substituted for formal training.
+ Must live within reasonable commuting distance of the plant in Thompsons, Texas.
+ Valid driver's license
+ Must receive a rating of Recommended on the NRG Pre-employment Assessment test.

Climb stairways, ladders, and work from aerial devices.
+ Must be prepared to work irregular or rotating shifts and respond to emergency callout 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
+ Ability to work in mentally stressful environments: must be able to react to crises where immediate action is required to correct or curtail potentially damaging or hazardous situations.
+ Daily work expectation requires ability to perform tasks by walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, crouching, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, shoveling, climbing, and working with hand tools (up to 25 pounds) in position above and below head, and extended from body to complete repairs.

LAW STUDENT PAID INTERNSHIPS
Paid Interns are assigned to work directly with experienced trial attorneys and assist the attorneys with a wide range of duties, including (1) victim and witness interviews; (2) assistance with formal plea procedures; (3) trial preparation; (4) research and writing; and (5) assistance with jury selection and jury trials. Interns routinely accompany prosecutors to court to observe and help with court dockets, hearings, and trials. Interns may also be required to complete additional assignments, specific projects, or observations as prescribed by their school or professors.
OUR COMPENSATION
Our paid interns are paid a salary of $20.00 per hour for up to 25 hours per week. Paid interns do not receive health, time, or leave benefits. Interns do not receive overtime pay or comp time hours.
WHEN APPLYING:
Your resume will be forwarded to the Internship Director for review. If chosen, applicants are subject to a full background investigation which takes about 2 weeks and then there is a final review before you are offered a position. When hired, you will spend your first full day with HCDAO in orientation with our HR Division. You will then be released to your assigned division at the Criminal Justice Center (CJC) to begin working.
You will create your schedule with your supervising attorney on your first day. Paid interns are expected to work up to 25 hours per week. You must be willing to work at least a semester with HCDAO.
