OVERVIEW
General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) is a proud and an approved DoD SkillBridge Industry Partner. SkillBridge is an excellent opportunity as you plan for your life after the military. This program is open to any rank, enlisted or officer. Skillbridge is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last six months of service for up to 180 days.
You may be eligible to participate in SkillBridge if you:
* Have 180 days of service or fewer remaining prior to your date of discharge and you have at least 180 continuous days of active service.
* Obtain written authorization and approval from your unit commander to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the internship.
* Will receive an honorable discharge.
* Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
* Agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the service if mission requirements dictate.
Our 90 to 180-day internship assignments provide real-world exposure to day-to-day activities in departments and hands-on training opportunities to re-skill and up-skill. Internship Overview
The Motown Museum's Curatorial Department invites a highly motivated undergraduate or graduate student to join our team for the Spring 2026 semester. This internship provides direct experience in museum research, exhibition development, and narrative interpretation for both physical and digital exhibitions.
The Curatorial Intern will support the Associate Curator and Digital Media Curator in meeting project timelines and advancing curatorial initiatives. This role is ideal for students seeking real-world museum experience, professional mentorship, and deeper engagement with Motown's cultural and historical significance.

Serves as a member of a land survey crew performing field work on civil engineering, construction, land surveying and geospatial projects.
Operates and maintains instruments and equipment needed to complete land surveying tasks.
Assists with taking field notes, collection of field data and related computations.
Demonstrates safety practices and behaviors on project sites.
Carries equipment and tools for long distances.
Clears brush and small trees.
Communicates using basic land surveying terminology.
Controls traffic when working in or near roadways.
Maintains, cleans and organizes land surveying vehicle and equipment.
Reads and interprets construction plans and drawings.
Performs work in many outdoor developed and natural environments.
Adheres to safety protocols and procedures outlined by PEA Group.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Licenses and Certifications
Enrolled and pursuing Land Surveying, Geomatics, Geospatial, GIS, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Knowledge and Experience
No experience necessary.
General knowledge of math and trigonometry.
Competencies and Personal Attributes
Good hand writing and ability to sketch and document activities.
Positive attitude and desire to learn.
Strong math skills and interest in mathematics.
Strong work ethic and team-player attitude.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule with longer hours while maintaining concentration in varying weather and site conditions.

Availability
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., overtime and weekends as required.
Travel
As a part of performing this position's duties, travel will be required to respective job sites in Michigan and throughout the United States.
