Position Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated intern to join our Biometrics team. Raritan Valley Community College is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Coastal Conservation Internship.
Raritan Valley Community College and the Pinelands Preservation Alliance are looking for seasonal interns to assist with various activities related to the protection of sensitive beach habitats for rare species and enhanced dune development in New Jersey. Interns will primarily assist with the installation and maintenance of protective beach fencing and collection of monitoring data on beaches and dunes to determine their effectiveness. Other activities may include assisting with surveys of rare beach plants, conducting outreach and interpretive activities at state parks, development of internet and outreach materials, and involvement in other aspects of research activities investigating global patterns of beach use and conservation, depending upon intern interest and abilities.
Requirements:
Must be a current RVCC student in good academic standing or a recent graduate.
Interest and/or experience in ecology/conservation field work.
Physical ability to perform manual labor outdoors under varying weather conditions for 6-8 hours/day.
Must have personal transportation and be willing to drive 1-2.5 hours to field sites across the New Jersey shoreline.
Plant and/or animal identification skills.
Interpersonal communication skills (written and oral).
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities
Learn and utilize BST and Power BI key performance indicators and basic financial terminology.
Assist with preparing and processing client and vendor contracts.
Prepare reports and support management-level presentations.
Compile, distribute, and follow up on client invoices.
Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collection follow-ups as needed.
Use Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
