Position Description:
The primary responsibility for the Wildland Fire Research Intern will be to study wildfire-climate relationships and wildfire-atmosphere interaction. This may include working on wildfire databases, studying statistical relationships between fire and climate, and assisting wildland fire researchers in identifying weather scenarios that produce large wildland fires.
Preference will be given to applicants who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in Meteorology and/or a Atmospheric Sciences. Additional coursework in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, and Technical Communication is not necessary but would be beneficial to the applicant.
Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.

In the office, interns will assist with designing structures to support scientific equipment, create layouts for cryogenic piping and electrical conduit, work with the install team to develop plans for the installation of complex structures, and collaborate with scientists and engineers across the world to ensure the needs of the experiment are being met. The selected interns will work under the direct mentorship of a BSI or I&I engineer. The selected candidate(s) work directly under the mentorship of an LBNF FSCF employee.

Job Description
The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week during the summer. Primary activities include analysis of structures, engineering support, and data analysis. Supplemental activities may involve design and assessment of foundations, dams, retaining structures, ground support systems, storage tanks, and conventional geotechnical or structural analyses. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of experienced engineering staff in these areas.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Must be a senior or graduate level and working toward a bachelor of science or advanced degree in civil engineering with a structural or geotechnical emphasis, or related field
Strong computer skills, spreadsheets and structural analysis software are required
Excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively in writing and orally, and be self-motivated.
Additional Information
Compensation: Hourly wage depends on education and experience. Typical salary range for this position is $21 to $25 per hour, plus statutory insurance requirements.

**Job Summary**
The Sanford nursing intern participates in a learning experience designed to develop confidence and competence in clinical skills to facilitate a smooth transition into a licensed role after graduation. The internship program assists students in finding an area of nursing clinical practice that best fits their career goals, talents and interests. The intern will be mentored by an licensed professional in his/her specialty to strengthen clinical skill sets. The intern cares for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move in and out of care settings. The intern discovers enhanced ways of communicating and supporting patients, learning what it is like working as a licensed professional in their field, while following a real schedule. Performs tasks of direct and indirect patient care and supports the activities of the department. Utilizes appropriate population-specific patient care protocols and policies related to the physical and psychological needs of all ages of patients. Embodies the vision and values that are compatible with Sanford Health. The intern functions within the scope and standards of practice as outlined in the state specific regulations.
**Qualifications**
+ Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited RN program and have participated in an academic clinical experience.
+ At the time of internship, student must be within 1 or 2 semesters of your expected graduation date. Applicant must have an anticipated graduation date of Winter 2026 or Spring 2027.
+ Must have completed 1 semester of clinical experiences prior to the internship.
+ Submission of an accumulative transcript, including your most recently completed semester at time of application.
+ Current BLS certification through the American Heart Associates (AHA) required.
