**Role Purpose**The role of Translator works closely with our clients international customer base, acting as the 1st line of support when reaching out for a solution. This role will see you building rapport with clients across their global customer base, whilst utilising your language skills in German and Italian. You will be required to deal with 1st line enquiries and deploy effective questioning techniques to gain a deeper understanding of the customers issue and the system it relates to. In turn, allowing you to engage the correct internal resources / team members, to then assist the customer in solving the problem.
More importantly, NO PREVIOUS TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. The only mandatory experience is the german language with, the ability to also speak either Italian, Spanish or French. All other required information, both technical and systems based, will be taught on the job!
**Tasks and Duties**
* Answer incoming calls and noting down the issue descriptions in the respective customer's language
* Interpret / translate between the customers and the technicians
* Classify the issues and gather all the by the technicians needed information
* Prioritize incidents
* Create tickets in the SAP C4S ticket system and assign them to the appropriate technical team / 2nd level technician
* Make outbound calls and/or gather additional information if the issue descriptions are incomplete
* Check the customer's contact information and add or edit customer data if necessary
* Process mails from customers
* Translate mails to ensure clear communication between the customer and the technical departments
* Give status information to the customers - Verbal and written
* Create, translate and send out final reports of the incidents
* Translate RFC/Change Requests and send them to the customer in their respective language
* Organization of appointments for RFC/Change Requests
* Do preparatory work for technical interventions
* Help the customers to navigate through E-insight (customer platform)
* First point of escalation / first point of contact for Incident Management
* Continuously work on improving one´s own technical knowledge
* Continuously work on improving internal processes
* Contributing in the optimization and further development of the various software in use
* Interpret customer trainings on-site at the customers

Essential Duties and Responsibilities in ASL: **************************************
* Hearing interpreters will effectively interpret between ASL and spoken English
* Deaf interpreters will effectively interpret between ASL, Tactile American Sign Language, other forms of visual communication, and written English
* Adhere to Sorenson policies and procedures, and the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
* Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a respectful and professional attitude with customers and colleagues
* Work effectively in a team environment; receive support from and provide support to colleagues
* Exhibit the ability to meet performance and customer service expectations with minimal supervision
* Enhance interpreting skills through continuing education and training
* Maintain, as applicable, compliance with any national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements
* Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the various interpreting needs in the community setting
* Possess the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment in a variety of settings and locations
* Fully comply with Sorenson Communications attendance requirements
* Effectively represent the Sorenson Communications brand when interacting with customers in the field
* Work with intern students or provide mentoring when appropriate and as assigned
* Be prompt and prepared for each interpreting engagement
* Flexible with assignment changes
* Ability to use technology for accurate reporting for billing, scheduling and service evaluation.

LEAD TRANSLATION SPECIALIST/Professional Medical Interpreter - (Spanish Language) (Temple University Hospital - 40 hours days) - (215765) Description The lead translations specialist/professional medical interpreter works with the TUHS approved translations vendor(s) to process translations requests . The lead translations specialist/professional medical interpreter facilitates linguistic and cultural communication between patients seeking health care services and providers of clinical and supportive health care services. This includes spoken and written language needed in the health care environment. The interpreter abides by the professional code of ethics. Functions in the capacity of Professional Medical Interpreter, and Translations Specialist. Functions as a Linguistic Services Coordinator as needed, under limited supervision, receives requests from providers, processes and arranges interpreter services. Triages and prioritizes scheduling requests for services according to established protocols. Deploys staff interpreters and arranges for vendor interpreters to fill requests. Coordinates interpreter assignments for TUH, Episcopal, TUP, Jeanes, Fox Chase Cancer Center, and TPI. Assists with training and coaching of new professional medical interpreters and dual role medical interpreters both in the classroom setting and in observations in clinical settings. In lieu of CT-ATA Certified Translator, a Master's Degree in Translation will be accepted.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
Experience
5 Years experience as a formally trained, tested medical interpreter (Required)
5 Years experience as a formally trained, tested translator (Required)
General Experience communicating in English and target language (Bilingual) (Required)
General Experience in healthcare (Required)
License/Certifications
CMI - Certified Medical Interpreter (Preferred)
CHI - Cert Healthcare Interpreter (Preferred)
CT-ATA - Certified Translator or MS Degree in Translation (Required)
