Reporting to the Manager, Linguistics, the Linguist II serves as a vital part of the Serrano Language Revitalization Project (SLRP). This position utilizes a strong knowledge of linguistics, archival resources, lexicography, data science, and the Serrano language to ensure that all language needs are met within the SLRP team, the Department of Education, and the greater Tribal enterprise and community. The Linguist II will be responsible for maintaining the fluency transfer system by providing periodic updates for the teaching of Serrano. This role will serve as a key bridge between the linguistic study of Serrano and the implementation of immersion teaching materials and Serrano language resource development. This role regularly works with SLRP team to clearly define all the language needs of the department.
