Job Summary
Our Linguists are responsible for performing real-time transcriptions of sensitive material from Spanish to English; collecting, analyzing, identifying, and decoding of colloquialisms and slang terms; extracting pertinent information and communicating that information to law enforcement agent(s). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Listens to oral and written intercepts or pre-recorded communications in Spanish and provides verbal and written synopsis and transcriptions as it may be applicable per project.
Responsible for relating all pertinent information to the Client when supporting a live project.
Contributes to a master-list of slang words and codes (used by a particular group/organization) for the duration of the project/case.
Maintains a voice library for the duration of the project.
Transcribes and translates pertinent calls and documents as assigned by their supervisor.
Produce court ready transcriptions of pertinent calls, chats, and documents, following the required format.
Responsible for using the various reference tools created during the project.
Ability to transcribe a minimum of 16 minutes of recorded conversation in an 8-hour day.
Operates specialized software equipment provided by the government to include JSI voice box, Pen-link, Comverse, and other communication collection equipment used at their assigned site.
Maintain daily log of productivity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Assists with training and coaching of new professional medical interpreters and dual role medical interpreters both in the classroom setting and in observations in clinical settings. In lieu of CT-ATA Certified Translator, a Master's Degree in Translation will be accepted.

Provides medical oversight for the Labor and Delivery and Post Partum Units to ensure the care and safety of St. Mary's Maternity patients.
Communicate clinical status of patients with the attending physician
Perform initial H&P and assessment on arrival if not done by the attending
Complete discharge instructions as needed prior to patient discharge, if not done by attending as required
Evaluate OB/GYN patients at the discretion of the attending OB/GYN within 30 minutes, if feasible
Current with Peri-Facts Program requirements.
Participate in educational programs as needed and as mutually agreed upon by the Hospital and the Department of OB/GYN
Oversee the Labor, Triage, Delivery and Recovery areas, keeping a working knowledge of all patients in these areas. Communicate effectively with the attending physician.
Complete progress notes on all patient contacts in a timely manner
