    Our Company: Accent on Languages (AOL) is looking for Spanish and English speaking, Analytical Linguists to work on-site under a federal Government contract, in the Accent on Languages is a woman owned language company established in Berkeley since 1992. We have been providing language services to the law enforcement community as well as state government agencies and commercial clients in 120 languages. In 2011, Accent teamed up with one of the nation's leading provider of interpretation, translation, and monitoring services to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) nationwide. Job Description: As an analytical linguist, your primary job would be to listen to live audio, transcribe and translate it. This will take place on site at one of the DEA offices, this is a project based employment opportunity, meaning we cannot guarantee constant work year round. The workload will depend on the cases assigned to certain regions. This work would mostly benefit someone who is a freelancer, retired, and/or looking for supplemental income. We can offer Part Time or Full Time work based on the cases assigned to certain regions. Employee benefits apply such as PTO, Sick Pay, Health and Welfare, Medical Insurance & 401k. Hourly rate varies and is determined regionally by federal contracting at around $30-35/hr. This position will require a DEA security clearance for which Accent on Languages will sponsor you if eligible. Must be willing to deploy within 36-hours of assignment to locations across the state of Florida. *Contingent Upon Contract Award Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Linguist (Translator/Transcriber) to join the Team! As a member of OSG's project team, the Linguist (Translator/Transcriber) reports directly to the Site Supervisor. The Linguist (Translator/Transcriber) will have verifiable language skills as evidenced by an ILR score of 3/3/3 in one or more languages, have experience working alone or in a team in a remote and office setting, and have a familiarity with law enforcement protocols and Title III regulations governing intercepted and collected information. In support of Obsidian's Title III services contract, the Linguist (Translator/Transcriber) will perform the following activities and possess the relevant qualifications, skills, and competencies listed herein. Specific Responsibilities Translation and Transcription: Translate and transcribe audio, video, and written communications from the source language to English and vice versa. Interpretation: Conduct real-time interpretation and summation of live communications, including intercepted communications. Analysis: Use experience and training to analyze language, identify patterns, and create pattern-of-life artifacts for case agent use. Documentation: Prepare accurate and timely written summaries and reports of translated and interpreted communications. Cultural Awareness: Teach language skills and cultural awareness to individuals and groups as needed. Compliance: Ensure all translations and interpretations comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including Title III of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act. Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field is preferred. Experience: Proven experience in translation, transcription, and interpretation. Experience with CAT and Machine Translation (MT) tools is a plus. Language Proficiency: Native or near-native proficiency in one or more target languages and advanced English language skills. Skills and Competencies Strong cultural knowledge. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in using various translation and transcription tools. Verifiable ILR score of 3/3/3 in at least one target language and English. Target languages include, but are not limited to: Spanish, Haitian/French-Creole, French, Italian, Arabic, Hebrew, Russian, Chinese Mandarin, Vietnamese, Tagalog, German, Korean, Hindi, Japanese, Greek, Polish, Urdu, Gjuarati, and Portuguese. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Home office and traditional office settings Travel Occasional requirement to travel within 48-hours' notice of project assignment.
