The Spanish Analytic Linguist will provide operational support to support linguist and translator duties as assigned by the PMO. InPerson Interpreter Responsibilities Provide effective onsite interpreting service for consumers. Always exhibit professional appearance and behavior, including punctuality and preparedness for shifts. Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to new and changing technologies. Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and procedural requirements specific to interpreting context (i.e., hospitals, courts, schools, etc.). Respect for and understanding of our Limited English Proficient (LEP) clients, culture, dialect and beliefs and preferences as it relates to medical procedures. Strong aptitude and passion for customer service and interpreting. ASL Interpreter Minimum Qualifications National certification at or above NAD level 4, RID CSC, CI/CT, CDI, NIC or BEI Advanced. Extensive knowledge of the NAD/RID Code of Professional Conduct and Deaf Culture ethics and standards of practice. Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as other state and federal laws applied to medical interpreting. HIPAA Training for Business Associates certificate (completed within the last year) State licensed where applicable. Preferred Qualifications ASL/English fluency, and bilingual/bicultural competency. Degree or certifications in ASL interpreting practices. Minimum 2 years of in-person ASL interpreting experience within a medical setting, preferred. Proven national medical interpreter certification (CCHI or NBCMI), or medical interpreter training diploma (i.e.: Bridging the Gap, MiTio, Cross-Cultural training, any 40-hour nationally accredited medical interpreter training course), preferred but not required. Provide language interpretation, translation and support as needed by stakeholders (school staff and district). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with teachers to implement activities that meet students' instructional and social emotional needs. Assist students with scaffolded supports guided by classroom teachers to access content using (interpretation, translation, visuals, one step directions, etc...). Lead small group instruction under the direction of a supervising teacher. Supervise and adhere to schedules and duties outlined within the building sites needs (hallway duty, lunch duty, bus duty, etc...) Facilitate communication by interpreting and translating for Grandview C4 stakeholders as needed (teacher, parent meeting, documents, etc). Maintain records, documents and consistently provide two-way communications by sharing information in a timely manner. Assist with proactively identifying, screening and assessing English Learners. Participate in meetings (Conferences, Parents/Guardians, Teams, PD, etc.) Maintain and promote a positive learning environment. Other duties as assigned.
