Job Title: Field Service Technician Company: Interstate Power Systems Pay Range: $30.00-$40.00/hour DOE
We're seeking experienced Field Service Technicians to be based out of our Fargo location and serve the greater Fargo area. You'll perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers-no more being tied to the shop bench.
If you're a Diesel Mechanic/Technician with at least 3-5 years of light or heavy-duty diesel experience-especially with Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT, and/or MTU products-and you're ready to transition into a true Field Service role with a company truck, tools, and the freedom of the road, we want to hear from you!

Field Service Technician Job Duties:
Responsible for repairing, maintaining diesel engines and diesel components used in various vehicles and diesel equipment.
Accurately and efficiently diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and make necessary repairs.
Communicate effectively with peers, foreman, and service team regarding those repairs.
Quality control work performed to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
Meet requirements for certifications.
Field Service Technician Requirements:
Valid Driver's license (Bonus compensation for CDL holders)
Must possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and be reliable.
Must possess an excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG17 product.
Experience with other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, & International are a plus.
Other mechanical skills desired but not essential: Hydraulics, Brakes & Suspension, Manual Transmissions, Drive Train, and Automatic Transmissions.

Field Service Technician Job Duties:
Responsible for repairing, maintaining diesel engines and diesel components used in various vehicles and diesel equipment.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

* Support parts department by identifying required components during repairs.

Qualifications:
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in diesel mechanics or heavy-duty truck repair preferred.
* Experience: 1-2 years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy-duty diesel trucks (e.g., Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Volvo, or Mack).
* Skills:
* Basic knowledge of diesel engine principles, hydraulic systems, and air brake technology
* Familiar with diagnostic tools (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link, or OEM software) and hand/power tools.
