1994

Digital Equipment’s board wanted the company to turn a profit in the last quarter of 1994, Ragon says.

1997

In 1997, the company introduced Caché (hidden in French), a competitor to Oracle’s database management tools.

1998

The first two acquisitions triggered the expansion of InterSystems while the third acquisition of Micronetics in 1998 made InterSystems a very powerful company for M technology.

2001

InterSystems has secured 170 federal contracts totaling $97.9 million since 2001, according to the USASpending.gov database.

2002

Sales tripled in the eight years through 2002.

2003

In 2003, InterSystems released an integration platform called Ensemble which marked the companies expansion to other technology areas.

2006

The work gained support because VA doctors were able to summon computerized records in seconds, vital for treating vets hustled into an emergency room, according to Ragon’s 2006 testimony before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.

2007

In 2007, Company acquired a vendor of TrakCare called TrakHealth.

2009

In 2009, he surfaced in the press when he and his wife Susan, an executive at InterSystems, donated $100 million over 10 years to establish the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard.

Doctors and hospitals are also going digital after the federal economic stimulus package of 2009 provided more than $31 billion for computerized medical efforts.

2011

Revenues from one of its products, called HealthShare, have doubled to $20 million last year, over 2011.

After making significant progress in healthcare technology, the company invested some time in developing efficient DBMS. In 2011, InterSystems launched a new product called Globals.

2012

Phillip Ragon, known as Terry, has quietly built Cambridge, Mass-based InterSystems into a $443 million (2012 revenues) company, selling the guts of electronic health records: databases that can easily ramp up and allow doctors to quickly retrieve patient information.

2013

Ragon in late 2013 reorganized InterSystems into three divisions, two focused on health care.

2017

In 2017, the company rolled out another lucrative product line called InterSystems Iris Data Platform which combined the DBMS capabilities with analytics and interoperability.

2019

In 2019, the annual revenue of the company was $727 million.
