The Intervention Specialist ALC is part of a team that provides integrated services to the student. The Intervention Specialist ALC will develop an appropriate individual educational program in multiple content areas for each student in the classroom. BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION SPECIALIST/REGISTERED BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN (Part-Time/Full-Time)

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

· Provide Behavior Intervention/ABA services to children and adolescents in the school and home

· Work closely with supervisors to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and/or Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)

· Complete appropriate documentation and data collection

· Work cooperatively with other paraprofessional and licensed staff to facilitate positive interventions

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma (Associate’s Degree Preferred).

Personal: Be intelligent, flexible, energetic, and dedicated.

Experience: Familiarity with ABA preferred but not necessary and/or experience working with children.

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills: Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) with a variety of individuals including teachers, clients, and parents, in a respectful and effective manner. Work independently and as part of a team and follow instructions of supervisor. Think critically and manage time efficiently. Basic computer skills (Word/Outlook). Maintain a professional image and courteous demeanor at all times.

Rate of Pay:

$22.00 to $29.76 per hour. Paid RBT trainings.

Work Location:

LAUSD schools, client’s homes, and our ECF HQ building in Culver City.

The Children’s Mobile Intervention Services (CMIS) Intervention Specialist works with youth and family who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis and provide crisis intervention, solution-focused interventions, motivational interviewing, behavior management, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques for the purpose of identifying, assessing, treating and stabilizing the situation while reducing risk and assessing the safety needs of the youth and family. The Intervention Specialist helps the family develop a risk management/safety plan, if they do not already have one. The Intervention Specialist, with the consent and in collaboration with the youth and family, guides the family through the crisis planning process that is in line with the family’s present stage of readiness for change. Services are provided in home, school, and community settings as needed and all required documentation will be maintained. The Intervention Specialist is supervised by the Clinical Team Supervisor.

A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a mental health discipline, such as clinical psychology, mental health counseling, clinical social work, or other clinically related discipline. The degree must have prepared the student for provision of clinical services via a practicum and internship experience provided in a clinical setting with children and adolescents, with on-site supervision. Online degrees without direct clinical supervision will not be accepted.

A minimum of two-year’s post-Master’s experience providing clinical services to children and adolescents is required.

Active Clinical Licensure in Pennsylvania: as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (with clinical social work degree), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (with experience treating children/adolescents), or Licensed Psychologist, is preferred but not required.
