Applicants within an approximate 50 -mile radius of this location may be considered. As a Field Interviewer, you will conduct study enrollment interviews supporting the Parents Empowering Parents (PEP) study, which primarily focuses on assessing the effectiveness of services provided to parents involved with child welfare who have substance use disorder (SUD), an active child welfare case with an assessment that the children are not currently endangered and they are working to address the areas of concern that caused the case to be initiated. This is a multi -year study that includes a 45 -minute interviewer -administered baseline survey, plus another similar follow -up survey approximately 15 months later.
This is a part -time position, and applicants must be available at least 20 hours per week up to 40 hours per week based on availability of work. Applicants must be available to work a combination of weekdays and weekends when respondents will be available. There will be a 3 day paid in -person group training session in Cambridge, MA in mid -January 2025. (There will also be 8 hours of computer self -study at home) A tablet, keyboard and phone will be provided and is for use only on this assignment. The compensation for this position is based on your location and follows the Service Contract Act (SCA) rates. The SCA Rate for Hennepin County is $22.81 per hour, plus a $4.98 per hour Health & Welfare stipend.

Westat is currently seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals to work as Field Interviewers for the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). MEPS is a study of health care costs and usage in the United States, sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), a part of the Department of Health and Human Services. MEPS is a panel survey, which features several rounds of interviewing the same respondents to collect information for two full calendar years.
Field Interviewers (FIs) conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with adult members of households, drawn from a nationally representative sample, using a Westat-provided laptop computer. FIs are responsible for contacting the households in-person and/or by phone to gain cooperation, setting appointments, completing the interview, and collecting and following up with electronic and hard-copy signed documents.
Traveling to the MEPS in-person training in January 2026 is a mandatory job requirement. In addition, FIs may be required to travel to local, and, at times, long-distance households, with some assignments requiring overnight travel.
This is a part-time position that runs yearly, with two data collection periods. One period runs from January through mid-July, and the other from late July through early December. Start and stop dates vary with caseloads; however, all data collectors will have a break between rounds, during which time there is no work. Between the spring and fall rounds, the break is typically 1-2 weeks; between the fall and spring rounds, it is approximately a month.

Familiarity with older adults, nursing homes, assisted living, or adult care settings is preferred.
Perks & Compensation
Hourly Pay: $23.50 per hour for work time (e.g., conducting interviews, etc.)
Mileage Reimbursement: $0.45 per mile
Drive Time Pay: $15.97 per hour
Print Stipend: $3 per week

Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role is primarily on-site at nursing home facilities.
Requires routine usage of standard office equipment such as a computer, tablet, phone, and
home printer.
May involve standing, sitting, walking, and carrying materials for extended periods.
Use repetitive hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms for up to eight hours each day.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 10 pounds. Interviewers must always carry all materials on their person.
Individuals are regularly required to talk and hear to conduct face-to-face interviews with residents.
