This leader is primarily responsible for ensuring the accounting and operations functions are working accurately and efficiently, as well as are aligned to our policies for revenue recognition, specifically in our International markets.
As an individual contributor, responsibilities include working with the business unit marketers, product managers, Finance, and IT teams to understand business strategy, systems roadmaps, and end-to-end offering requirements in order to provide technical revenue guidance and ensure proper systemic and manual revenue accounting. This is a highly visible and exciting role in the Finance controllership group in service to accurate revenue recognition and financial statements while supporting Intuit's overall growth.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to collaborate and lead across multiple functions and roles, ability to translate technical literature and accounting/company policy into clear requirements for execution, strong change management skills, and ability to drive issues through to resolution.
**Responsibilities**
+ Understand the end-to-end operational, financial, and systemic environment and key upstream and downstream processes that drive financial and customer impacts. Drive strategy to support revenue recognition, new offerings, and business changes.
+ Develop, maintain, and enforce the Company's revenue recognition policy under ASC 606, developing new positions and interpretations as needed. Stay connected to current business and offering strategies.
+ Perform technical accounting research.
+ Clearly articulate point of view regarding revenue issues. Use strong communication skills to inspire confidence in decisions and provide transparency as to status and trade-offs, with the ability to bridge between accounting, technical, and business mindsets with ease.
+ Stay current on evolving Accounting Standards pronouncements and updates under prevailing regulatory bodies (FASB, SEC), incorporating into Company policy as necessary.
+ Apply professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyze the appropriateness and reasonableness of underlying revenue accounting principles.
+ Establish and maintain controls necessary to ensure that revenue forecasts, deferred revenue balances, and revenue accounting execution are compliant with Company policy and GAAP.
+ Proactively lead and influence cross-functionally and at all levels of management. Cultivate strong relationships with leaders in Accounting, Finance, and across the business in order to facilitate timely, high-quality decision-making in connection with revenue recognition matters.
+ Develop training and outreach programs and deliver this training to business unit and functional team leaders.
+ Work comfortably with cross functional teams and actively consult with product management, sales, and marketing personnel to ensure revenue recognition timing and process implications are understood for each offering.
+ Ensure the proper accounting treatment for all product and service offerings is documented and that related accounts are properly prepared, reviewed, and substantiated.
+ Streamline systems and reporting tools to ensure efficient and accurate recording and classification of revenue.
+ Participate in revenue recognition due diligence activities related to potential acquisitions.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelors' degree in Finance/Accounting with minimum of 7 years' post-graduate experience, or equivalent work experience; CPA/MBA highly desirable.
+ Must be able to work out of our San Diego or Mountain View offices at least 3 times a week.
+ Strong technical accounting and revenue knowledge for financial statements and internal controls over financial reporting. Demonstrated understanding of theory and application of relevant revenue recognition accounting literature.
+ Strong end-to-end process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills. Proactively address issues, own the outcome, and continuously strive for best in class processes and deliverables.

Job Summary:
Perform accounting, analysis and reporting for capital projects and fixed assets of NRG Inc and its affiliates.
Essential Duties:
Perform the accounting, processing, and analysis of fixed assets.
Perform fixed asset accounting functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month end close. Duties will include calculation of monthly Capitalized Interest and depreciation, capitalization of CIP projects, preparation of necessary journal entries and posting thereof in the accounting system.
Record and maintain records of fixed assets, including additions, retirements, and transfers.
Reconcile fixed asset accounts to general ledger on a monthly basis.
Support the Corporate Tax group with the annual property tax filings.
Liaison with plants, accounting and other groups to facilitate CIP reviews and month end close tasks.
Assist with external and internal audit requests.
Report monthly variance on capital expenditures to FP&A and Operations group.
Prepare depreciation forecast for NRG and its affiliates.
Provide assistance with special projects as necessary.
Working Conditions:
Open office environment
Position is designated as hybrid, meaning 3 days per week in the office, two days per week remote. Hybrid schedule determined by management.
Some overtime may be required during close cycle and for special projects.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Two to three years of experience in general accounting and finance.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.
Ability to work independently in team-oriented culture.
Experience in a fast-paced environment and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:

The base salary range for this position is: $*62,960-103,920 *The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition the position may be eligible to participate in the benefits program which include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending accounts.
