Job Description:
Essential Functions:
Performs a variety of investigational procedures on patients, such as Routine, Extended, and Portable video EEGs, and Long Term Epilepsy Monitoring, under direct supervision.
Applies, checks, and maintains EEG electrodes correctly, understanding the International 10-20 System for placement.
Calibrates and adjusts EEG instrument settings, ensuring high-quality, artifact-free tracings. Performs special recording techniques as necessary.
Gains knowledge of EEG technology principles, anatomy, and physiology. Recognizes normal and abnormal EEG activity patterns.
Provides patient-focused care, explains procedures clearly to patients or family members, observes clinical manifestations, and handles emergency situations appropriately.
Handles administrative duties, such as answering phones, scheduling procedures, keeping records, maintaining supplies, processing patient charges, and ensuring equiptment maintenance.
Actively participates in professional development activities, inclusive of conferences, technical meetings, and assigned readings.

UC Health is hiring a PRN Exercise Physiologist for the Internal Med-Cardio Pulmonary Rehab department for the first shift at our West Chester clinic.
The Exercise Physiologist is an individual educated in exercise science who has specific acquired knowledge and clinic skills in exercise testing, exercise prescription, exercise training, and lifestyle management of a group of clients. She/he interacts with other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care to clients. The person in this position must be competent in caring for adult and geriatric patients in the clinical population served. The exercise specialist/physiologist identifies individual fitness needs, establishes exercise guidelines for patients and participants, monitors participant use of wellness equipment for safe and proper technique, and leads wellness exercise classes. The exercise specialist/physiologist performs basic fitness assessments within his/her scope of practice and counsels community participants on appropriate exercise programs. The exercise specialist/physiologist demonstrates behaviors reflective of the mission and core values of the Drake Center as well as those specific to required competencies for successful job performance.
Responsibilities
Engages in population appropriate communication. Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks. Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment. Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient. Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary. Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems. Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately. Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms. Plans and educates participants regarding home exercise programs and use of equipment. Initially assess community participants to assist with development of a safe and appropriate exercise program based on the participants' needs/goals. Demonstrates correct body position and proper use of equipment to prevent injury. Recognizes an emergency situation, notifies appropriate personnel and assists with emergency care accordingly.
Consistently achieves benchmark of 90% compliance with criteria from chart audits. Completes all patient related documentation, including encounter forms/charge sheets, legibly and in a timely manner. Complies with all organizational, department and regulatory standards. Provides daily maintenance to provide a clean and safe environment at all times. Performs record keeping, registration and appropriate billing for patients and community users of the aquatic and wellness department.
Adheres to Organizational, department, and Human Resources initiatives and policies. Accepts at least one student per year according to department standards, needs and demand. Assists with record keeping and participant registration. The Exercise Physiologist develops and oversees exercise prescriptions and progression for patients with cardiovascular disease in a rehabilitative setting, working as part of a five-member team, and divides time between Executive Health, where they conduct comprehensive fitness and health assessments and design tailored exercise programs, and private client services, providing one-on-one personalized training to support individual goals and overall wellness.
A caregiver in this position works days. Monday - Friday 8am - 430pm OR, Four 10 hour shifts 730-6pm, Tuesday - Friday.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
* Provide patient testing before and after rehabilitation, including strength, body composition, flexibility, balance and endurance.
* Provide exercise prescriptions for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen.
* Update exercise prescriptions according to patient response.
* Implement concepts of cardiac secondary prevention.
* Recognize contraindications to exercise and abnormal patient responses to exercise.
* Appropriately respond to all situations including exercise cessation and referral to medical professionals.
* Provide exercise information to patients, peers and the community through public speaking and education classes.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in an exercise-related field
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
* Good interpersonal skills to work with patients, nurses, physicians and other exercise physiologists
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* Master's Degree in an exercise-related field
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time and ability to help patients stand and walk.
* Will require some lifting, bending, twisting of upper extremity to help limited patients.
* Must be able to adapt to different room temperatures in exercise.
Personal Protective Equipment:
* Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $18.88
Maximum hourly: $28.80
