Scope of the Position

Primary responsibility is to supply cell operators with W.I.P., component parts, packaging, and other items in order to produce finished goods. Goal is on time delivery of parts to customers.

Responsibilities

Ensures work cell has enough W.I.P., component parts, packaging, etc. to run production with no downtime. Moves W.I.P. stock to next designated area. Ensures product is properly identified with production tag or label. Returns items to crib during change over and ensures stock is identified and counted before returning to crib.

Rotates stock as needed - first in / first out rule. Orders stock as needed. May handle hazardous materials. Follows Help Chain as needed. Works with team members / management staff to attain company goals of:

100% on time delivery of product

Scrap reduction by 50% each year

0% work related injuries

Consistent implementation of 5-S standards across the plant

Conduct:

Maintains a positive and cooperative attitude throughout the workday. Discusses work-place issues with supervisory / management staff /co-workers in a respectful manner looking for positive solutions.

Communicates production issues relating to the assigned job with previous / next shift.

Responsible for contributing to a team atmosphere in the assigned work cell as well as the department overall. Responsible for placing stock square in the workstation and placed in its assigned spot.

Safety:

Operates hi-lo in accordance with safety guidelines considering speed, visibility, and load size.

Ensures safety check log for hi-lo is filled out at both shift start and end. Addresses any safety issues with the hi-lo before its operation. Reports any and all safety issues immediately to supervisor / team leader / management staff member. Reports any and all work place injuries immediately to supervisor / team leader / management staff member.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required. Prior related / similar experience driving various types of forklifts and utilizing RF Scanners is ideal.

+ Responds to and take calls from external vendors and customers related to shipments and orders

+ Responsible for creating accurate barcode tags and providing material tracing of goods issued to the order in real time, making sure the orders are reconciled to the loads accurately

+ Utilizes operational data to create necessary reporting and may complete tasks that are advanced and complicated requiring originality and ingenuity
