Inventory control technician job description

Compile and maintain records of physical and virtual product inventories via daily activities of cycle counting, claims management and accounts administration within the facility. Manage data concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping products for/from the facility. Order shipping materials supplies and equipment to maintain inventory throughout the facility. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keep inventory, purchasing, shipping and other records
• Put together data from purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, and accounting reports
• Determine stock supply and need for replenishment
• Look into damages, inventory adjustments, and shrink issues
• Find product to ensure correct product ID, conduct cycle counts regularly and assist in physical inventories
• Look at stock numbers, pallet IDs, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, product lists, and similar references to verify accuracy of shipping order
• Review files to find unused items and recommend disposal of excess or damaged products

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate warehouse material handling equipment to move product while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

• Ability to understand instructions in Country's official language or as defined by Lineage Logistics

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit/-25 Celsius in cold storage sites or up to 100 Fahrenheit/37 Celsius in dry storage sites while wearing company provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.; weight may be more dependent upon facility
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed

Hours: Monday - Thursday 3:00PM - 2:00AM (with an hour lunch break)

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels Maintain cycle counts along with inventory adjustments as needed Maintain incoming and outgoing parts transactions and movements Partner and communicate with various departments Provide service for internal and external customers Keep and maintain designated logistics area neat, clean, and orderly Properly stock/shelve aircraft parts in a warehouse environment Properly label, package, and box aircraft parts for inventory Flexible to work in all aspects of inventory control area of responsibility and overall logistics Process requisition forms in a timely manner and complete all associated reporting Maintaining parts, tools, and paperwork compliant to AS9100, DCMA, Company, and other regulations Post parts to work orders and prepare parts claims Submit Request for Quotes (RFQ) to vendors, analyze quotes, and create purchase orders Participate in on-call program

Skills/Qualifications:

* High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred), and various company software programs, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience preferred
* Ability to read and understand technical data for research purposes, knowledge of aviation terminology and standards a plus
* Effective written and oral communication skills
* Ability to learn new processes and materials quickly
* Ability to work productively and efficiently without distraction in a fast-paced atmosphere to achieve deadlines
* Ability to operate a forklift or to obtain equipment certification through company
* Ability to adapt/respond appropriately to changing circumstances
* Physical ability to:
* Lift, balance, and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
* Stand for an extended period of time on a concrete floor
* Work in harsh environmental conditions (hot and cold)

• Maintain tool control and accountability for manufacturing shop
• Maintain safe and clean work environment

• Perform lifecycle management inventory control functions such as receiving, logging, tagging and storing inventory for traceability requirements under AS 9100 and preparing final assemblies for shipment
• Prepare and ship parts for outside processes, including possible drop off and pick up
• Maintain mileage log, schedule maintenance, and prepare reports monthly for vehicles and forklifts
• Receive, inspect, and enter all material and product into inventory tracking software
• Notify owning authority when material arrives
• Package product and material in accordance with specified timelines, shipping instructions and (when required) Special Packaging Instructions (SPI)
• Ship product and material in accordance with timelines, shipping instructions and applicable guidance
• Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiate proof of delivery documents
• Assist HAZMAT specialist with receiving, handling, inventory management
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Education/Training (both required and desired):
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline desired
    
    
• Experience:
  • This position is available at several levels of experience, all interested candidates encouraged to apply
  • Experience using JobBoss (or an ERP system for manufacturing)
