    Boom Technology 4.3company rating

Inventory specialist job in Centennial, CO

Start the Best Work of Your Career at Boom At Boom, we're building the world's fastest airliner-and that takes more than breakthrough engineering. It takes a materials and logistics operation built for precision, speed, and zero excuses. We're looking for an Inventory Specialist to help stand up and own our shipping and receiving function from the ground up. You'll be the connective tissue between engineering, supply chain, facilities, and software-making sure every part, tool, and component moves exactly where it needs to, when it needs to. If you love organizing chaos, turning ad-hoc systems into structured workflows, and getting your hands dirty in the process, this is your seat. Role Overview * Stand up and own Boom's shipping and receiving process across all programs and departments. * Build and maintain the physical and digital inventory systems that keep parts flowing-whether through spreadsheets, ERP tools, or custom Boom-built software. * Collaborate with software, supply chain, and facilities teams to define and continuously improve how inventory is tracked and managed. * Receive, inspect, and route incoming materials and components, ensuring accuracy and accountability. * Package, label, and ship outgoing parts to suppliers, partners, and test sites. * Manage and organize physical storage locations within the facility, including bin setup, labeling, and layout optimization. * Track shipments and resolve delivery issues with suppliers and carriers. * Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently. * Maintain accurate records and documentation for all shipping, receiving, and inventory activities. * Support rapid prototyping, test, and build efforts by ensuring engineers have what they need-when they need it. The Ideal Candidate * Experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or inventory management, ideally in a manufacturing or R&D environment. * Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with ERP, MES, or custom inventory systems a plus. * Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, software, and operations teams. * Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through. * Valid forklift certification (required). * Demonstrates a strong work ethic and ambition, complemented by effective collaboration skills in a team setting. * Excels in a high-energy, independent, and challenging work environment. What Will Set You Apart * Experience standing up or scaling an inventory or logistics operation from scratch. * Familiarity with aerospace, automotive, or other high-precision manufacturing environments. * Ability to think in systems-seeing how physical flow, data flow, and process design intersect. * Comfortable switching between hands-on and digital problem solving: moving crates one hour, debugging a spreadsheet the next. * Curiosity and initiative to continuously improve processes rather than just follow them. Physical Requirements * Must be able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods throughout the shift. * Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. * Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. * Frequent reaching, bending, and handling of materials or equipment as needed.
