    Summary: American Conservation Experience / Emerging Professional Internship Corps, a Nonprofit Conservation Corps, in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is seeking one Inventory and Monitoring Biological Specialist to assist in preserving natural resources for future generations by implementing Inventory and Monitoring Programs on National Wildlife Refuges (NWRs) in California, Nevada and the Klamath Basin of Oregon. This internship includes inventory and monitoring plan implementation and natural resource monitoring to inform science-based resource management. This opportunity is intended for enthusiastic young professionals with a deep interest in advancing their career in natural resources management on our public lands. The purpose of the internship is to perform a variety of biological technical and operational duties essential to manage ecosystems, protect vulnerable species and provide hunting and recreational opportunity at refuges. These efforts will directly support the collection, analysis, and documentation of critical natural resource and management data that refuge staff currently lack the capacity to manage on their own. 20% - Data Preservation Biological Specialists will document and archive at least four high-priority natural resource datasets for the refuge. This work ensures that valuable data are preserved and accessible for future use in management and planning. Warehouse Technician (Driving) The Warehouse Technician will process orders, prepare items for shipment and receive incoming inventory. Where applicable also responsible for cleaning and disinfecting returned equipment, cleaning room maintenance, stocking and staging inventory, and inventory maintenance. The technician assists the supervisor or manager in pulling and loading equipment for delivery in addition to assembly of equipment when necessary, maintaining confidentiality and all other aspects of HIPAA compliance are essential in this job. Employees in this position may also be requested to deliver equipment to patients and/or facilities. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities: Performs data entry in appropriate applications, updates shipping information, and tracks orders. Completes clerical tasks including faxing, scanning, filing, and general phone calls. Prepares shipping containers in advance and creates labels. Reviews itemized customer lists; locates and assembles outgoing merchandise to fulfill requests. Verifies contents of outgoing packages against invoices or bills of lading. Receives and opens merchandise shipments, processes packing slips or invoices, and safely stores items. Documents returned items and cleans equipment following the Branch Maintenance and Cleaning Guidelines Retains knowledge of and consistently adheres to procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control, and hazardous materials handling.
