Inventory specialist job in Tualatin, OR
Review customer orders, examines, stocks, and distributes merchandise, products, and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centers, or manufacturing lines.
Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
Identify and label materials and record their locations in the warehouse/on the shelves to maintain inventory.
Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, making operator repair orders.
Complete material transactions in SAP, creating non-conformance reports in IQMS, and closing tasks in MFG based Cell Fusion application as the task requires.
Perform and report cycle counts.
Oversee crating and audit of outbound material.
Operate trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight as needed.
Arrange for nonstandard crating, rigging, and trucking work through proper channels.
Prepare finished products for shipment by identifying their location, then pulling, packing, and loading them.
Safety Protocol:
Complete all required safety training.
Follow safe work practices by lifting no more than 35 pounds, using ergonomic pads, stretching when needed, etc.
Adhere to personal and product safety guidelines by:
Utilizing appropriate PPE following clean room procedures
Following Lockout Tagout policies and procedures (LOTO and ZEST)
Utilizing fixtures (lift hoists, lift track, gantry cranes, lifting tools) to aid in the assembly of tools
Perform Risk Management by Walking Around (RMBWA) inspections and document, correct, and/or escalate safety issues/hazards to appropriate individuals/departments.
Respond directly and quickly to unsafe practices; escalate to the next level manager (safety representative, lead, supervisor, manager); and escalate any unresolved issues (incorrect use of hoist, poor placement of tools/cords/ladders, etc., not using cones or barriers, PPE misuse).

Work Hours & Benefits
As Warehouse/Material Handler you will be a non-exempt employee eligible to earn an hourly wage. Role Description
This position supports the production and warehouse departments by providing SAP expertise, ensuring inventory accuracy and reconciliation, coordinating material flow to PSA locations, and maintaining required supply levels in a timely manner.
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Location: Portland, OR
Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities
Lead efforts to maintain accurate records in the SAP systems.
Organize Cycle counts monthly, issue resolution, and stock balancing
Run SAP cycle count function to make accurate transactions, work with Finance to clear locations
Manage and report to Supervisor, SAP discrepancies; work with warehouse, production, and controller to coordinate data integrity.
Assist in Month End Closing internal reports as well as external customer stock
Create PO requisitions for raw materials, packaging and consumables.
Send approved Purchase orders direct to vendors, follow up to ensure on time arrival and all needed documents are obtained.
Must be open in Communicating with multiple work streams within the plant, including Planning & Scheduling, Production, Warehouse, and Finance.
Maintain cleanliness and 5S standards in the Work Area. Equipment and work areas must be kept organized, clean and sanitary throughout the shift.
Initiate timely raw material transfers to ensure adequate stock on hand for BH production.
Inventory accuracy verification of picklists, staged materials, truck inspections and shipments.
Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Report any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
Support, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs.
Support and comply with GMPs.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read, speak and write English so as to assimilate, retain, and apply training and knowledge of job.
Strong computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to apply math concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to operations.
Familiarity with general plant materials flow and inventory control procedures
Ability to operate a forklift
Good problem-solving skills and ability to research and resolve discrepancies.
Working familiarity / knowledge of SAP modules, WM and the workflow
Helpful to possess an understanding of manufacturing processes, shop floor workflow.
Able to handle multiple tasks and meet required deadlines Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, manager, and customers.
Able to work alone or as part of a team.
Work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.

Physical Demands

Education

What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems, supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes, and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements.
