Job Title: Shipping Clerk
Reports To: Shipping Manager
Pay: $22-$25 per hour (Contract-to-Hire)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, Saturdays as needed
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing and coordinating all outgoing shipments. This includes checking orders for accuracy, creating shipping documents, packaging and labeling products, and scheduling pickup with carriers. The role also involves keeping accurate records in the company's ERP system, communicating with internal teams and shipping partners, and helping keep the shipping area organized and efficient.
Primary Responsibilities
Use the company ERP system to process shipments and keep accurate records.
Create shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, and labels.
Package, weigh, and inspect outgoing products to ensure accuracy.
Schedule shipments with approved carriers or parcel services.
Track outgoing shipments and report any delays or issues.
Work with freight brokers to get competitive shipping rates.
Update customer portals with shipment information and scheduling.
Communicate with internal departments about priorities or special requests.
Ensure all materials are handled and stored safely.
Report packaging, equipment, or documentation issues to the Shipping Manager.
Receive and inspect incoming materials and ensure proper documentation.
Maintain chemical inventory, ensure proper certifications, PPE, and storage.
Keep the shipping area clean, safe, and organized.
Cross-train in other departments as needed.
Perform other tasks to support daily operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Able to read and follow written instructions.
English required; Spanish helpful.
Must be a U.S. Person.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements
Understanding of shipping processes in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with JobBOSS or similar ERP systems is a plus.
Ability to create accurate documentation.
Experience weighing, packaging, and labeling shipments.
Forklift or pallet jack experience; forklift certification preferred.
Crane experience is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements

Ensuring Purchasing is notified of any Owes, out of stock items, or issues.
Deliveries are sorted, received, and distributed/delivered efficiently and proactively

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Current pharmacy technician license required , relevant certifications preferred but not required (e.g., PTCB). If not currently licensed, but be able to obtain with three to six months.

Familiarity with pharmacy management software and inventory control systems.
