The Field Inventory Specialist monitors and maintains inventory levels at assigned customer location(s). Processes and tracks replenishment orders and changes. Compiles inventory information such as consumption rate, characteristics, value, and stock on hand to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately performs inventory transactions for lot controlled and non-lot-controlled inventory following FIFO methods while understanding the difference between Manufacturer and internal lot numbers
Validates inbound shipment against pack slip and open receipt. Completes processing of receipt VMI and performs put away in designated customer inventory storage locations
Reviews shelf life reports and communicates potential issues with team members and/or customers. Scraps material out when appropriate and follows customer specified disposal procedures
Performs and reconciles cycle counts to compare VMI inventory to actual inventory on hand
Proactively seeks out and interacts with key customer contacts to understand demand fluctuations and potential impact on inventory levels. Identifies and troubleshoots onsite issues and works collaboratively to resolve, escalating when necessary

Job Summary:
Sciton is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Receiving Specialist to support our manufacturing operations in Palo Alto, CA. This role ensures the accurate and efficient flow of incoming materials through coordination with cross-functional teams and use of our ERP system. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, a commitment to quality, and experience in regulated environments.
In this role, you will:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and quality standards
Accurately enter receiving data into the ERP system (e.g., item numbers, lot codes, serial numbers, quantities)
Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Purchasing to resolve discrepancies or nonconforming materials
Maintain proper identification, labeling, and traceability of received materials
Ensure materials are properly staged, stored, or delivered to the correct departments
Distribute material to stock locations and work centers
Fulfill internal customer service orders and stock replenishment requests
Perform periodic material counting, posting, and reconciliation
Maintain inventory accuracy in the warehouse locations
Participate in full physical material audits
Work closely with the Purchasing team and Accounts Payable to reconcile receipts and packing slips for payment to the supplier
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Follow and enforce all safety, environmental, and company policies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal documentation standards (ISO, FDA, etc. if applicable)
Report safety hazards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Essential Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical certification preferred
3-5 years of warehouse or receiving experience, preferably in a manufacturing or regulated environment
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent)
Strong understanding of receiving, inspection, and inventory control processes
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Word, ERP systems, barcode scanners)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices a plus
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $60k - $70k. The final offer will be based on factors such as relevant experience and qualifications. Technica is seeking a Warehouse Specialist for the 2nd shift 2pm-10:30pm for work at the DLA Distribution Center in Tracy, CA.
Work involves most of the following:
Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents
Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages
Routing materials to prescribed storage locations
Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods
Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials
Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage
Constructing and repairing boxes, pallets, wood bracing to be used in shipping and storage, as needed.
Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
Requirements:
This worker will be trained and licensed on the operation of hand or power trucks and MHE for performing warehousing duties.
Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, snow, and sleet.
Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
