Investcorp CEO and leadership

Rishi Kapoor is Investcorp’s Co-Chief Executive Officer. He oversees the Firm’s Private Equity businesses in North America and India, as well as the Real Estate, Credit Management, Absolute Returns and Strategic Capital businesses globally.

Prior to his appointment as Co-CEO, Rishi had held several leadership positions within Investcorp including as Chief Financial Officer between 2003 and 2015. He joined Investcorp from Citigroup in 1992.

Rishi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Rishi is a member of Duke University’s Middle East regional advisory board. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for National Bank of Bahrain, Gulf Air Group, Bahrain Airport Company and Gulf Aviation Academy.

In 2019, Rishi was recognized by Forbes Middle East as one of the top 10 Indian executives making an impact in the Middle East, and Top CEO Middle East recognized Rishi as one of the top CEOs in the GCC financial services and investment sector.

Jan Erik has more than 30 years of industry experience, the majority of which was in senior finance roles of financial services firms including SEB (Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB), Skandia and Handelsbanken. Jan Erik most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of SEB, a leading Nordic financial services group providing retail and merchant banking, wealth management, and life insurance services to its corporate and institutional clients across international markets.

Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Vattenfall, one of the largest producers of electricity and heat and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Skandia Group, a provider of products for savings and investments (subsequently acquired by Old Mutual plc). In these positions, his responsibilities included finance, treasury, investor relations, risk control and procurement functions. He started his career with Swedish bank, Handelsbanken, in their international finance and accounting operations.

Jan Erik holds a Bachelor degree from Uppsala University.

Ramzi T. AbdelJaber is Investcorp’s Chief Administrative Officer, which sees him lead a range of functions including Corporate Development, Administration / Infrastructure, Human Resources, Executive Compensation and Technology. He is a member of the Firm’s Operating Committee and chairs the Internal Audit Council, Human Resources Council, and Technology Advisory Council.

He has more than 25 years of strategy, business building, and senior management experience, with a particular focus on the financial services sector.

Ramzi joined Investcorp in 2004. During his time at the Firm, Ramzi has held a number of leadership positions including Head of Business Development worldwide and Chief of Staff for the Placement and Relationship Management (PRM) function.

Prior to joining Investcorp, Ramzi was a consultant with McKinsey & Co.’s Silicon Valley Office in Palo Alto, CA. He has also worked with Accenture (Andersen Consulting) in the Middle East.

In addition to his position at Investcorp, Ramzi serves on the Regional Board of Directors of INJAZ Al Arab. He is also the Chairman of Investcorp Investments LLC (incorporated in the Qatar Financial Center). Formerly, he served on the Management Committee of the GCC Board Directors Institute and was part of Jordan’s E-government taskforce appointed by HM King Abdullah II of Jordan. Ramzi is a former Young Presidents’ Organization member.

Ramzi holds an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also holds a B.Sc. in Computer Information Systems (with Honors and Highest Distinction) from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington.
