1984: Investcorp acquires New York jewelry firm Tiffany.

1985

1985: Investcorp acquires fishing boat and yacht manufacturer Bertram-Trojan.

1987

1987: Investcorp acquires 50 percent of Gucci.

1988

In 1988, Investcorp bought trucking firm Burnham Service Corp., based in Columbus, Georgia.

1994

In 1994, Investcorp boosted its position in the Swiss watchmaking industry with the acquisition of Ebel in 1994.

1996

In 1996, the company bought CSL Auto, based in Arizona, which operated more than 1,100 auto parts stores.

Investcorp launches dedicated Real Estate and Absolute Return Investment (formerly Hedge Funds) businesses in 1996 to offer investors and clients exposure to a broader array of investment opportunities.

1997

By 1997, Investcorp's recurrent income generated through its assets management wing had topped that produced as transaction fees for its corporate investment activities.

In 1997, the company purchased Wener, the leading maker of ladders and scaffolds in the United States.

The company diversified in 1997 into hedge funds.

2001

In 2001, Investcorp launches its first technology fund to target profitable, lower middle market technology companies with strong potential to expand internationally and feature multiple avenues for growth and cash-flow generation.

2009

In the wake of the global financial crisis and Great Recession, the Firm suffers its first and only annual loss in its history for FY 2009.

2010

Investcorp's portfolio company, Moneybookers, ended its relationship with WikiLeaks in August 2010 as a result of United States government pressure.

2015

Kirdar stepped down as CEO and executive chairman in 2015.
