Position Description:
We are currently seeking talented and experienced Private Investigators to join our growing team. This role involves ethical and professional investigative work on Workers' Compensation and Liability claims, primarily through surveillance and factual data collection.

Job Responsibilities
Conduct surveillance on Liability and Work Comp Insurance claims.
Prolonged periods of sitting in a vehicle or other stationary positions during surveillance - up to 12 hours per day.
Ability to travel to different locations for investigations, which may involve driving, walking, or using public transportation.
Maintain visual focus during surveillance activities, often for extended periods.
Ability to navigate various environments, including urban, rural, and indoor settings.
Ability to review and dissect comprehensive reports, as well as Police reports.
Ability to write a detailed surveillance report to Company Standards.
Ability to review video in order to properly prepare reports.
Ability to covertly document a Subject without being detected.
Ability to search, locate and utilize Social Media throughout the investigative process.
Ability to react quickly and use good judgement to scenarios that may arise during surveillance.
Knowledge of pretexting is preferable.
Ability to think outside the box.
Required:
Must be 18 years of age - unless otherwise stated by State Licensure Laws
Associate degree or comparable field experience preferred

Our Organization and Mission:
The Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco licenses the manufacture, distribution, sale, and service of alcoholic beverage and tobacco products in Florida, including receipt and processing of license applications; collection and auditing of taxes and fees paid by licensees; and enforcement of the laws and regulation of the alcoholic beverage and tobacco industries, pursuant to Chapters 210, 561-565, 567-569, Florida Statutes. The division's three bureaus - Licensing, Auditing and Enforcement - comprise a team of approximately 325 personnel fulfilling the regulatory obligations of the division throughout the state.
The Work You Will Do:
This is an opportunity to serve as a state law enforcement officer in Florida. Employees demonstrating advanced investigative and critical thinking skills normally excel within this Bureau. Employees are challenged with shifting seamlessly from regulatory investigators to law enforcement officers during their investigative activities. The Bureau seeks applicants interested in investigating complex crimes while deterring underage access to alcoholic beverages, tobacco and nicotine products. These positions require team members to work some nights and weekends as necessary.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Selected candidates will plan, conduct, and complete criminal, administrative and civil investigations for which the Division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco has jurisdiction, as described:
* Plans, conducts and completes all or portions of criminal, administrative, and civil investigations.
* Conducts minimum age compliance surveys (alcohol and tobacco), prepares work plan involving the public and other government agencies to reduce or eliminate non-compliance, and completes planned activities making adjustments as needed.
* Independently conducts investigations of stolen or counterfeit cigarette tax stamps; unlawful shipments of deliveries of alcoholic beverages or tobacco products into the State; non-tax paid alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and fraudulent applications, tax returns, and records; and unlawful ties between manufacturers or distributors and retailers of alcoholic beverages.
* Prepares well-composed, accurate reports and submits documentation within specified timeframes.
* Conducts interviews, testifies in official legal proceedings, and participates in cooperative investigations with other agencies.
* Provides training regarding State laws and rules which the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco is responsible for enforcing. Participates in community prevention and education events.
* Enforces final orders, settlement agreements, and court orders, makes arrests, serves warrants, recruits and documents informants, and accounts for investigative expenses.
* Plans, conducts and completes inspections of businesses licensed to sell or serve alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, to promote compliance.

Minimum Requirements:
* Must hold a current active Florida Law Enforcement Officer certification (currently possessing a State of Florida Law Enforcement Certification pursuant to Section 943.13, Florida Statutes) or have passed the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) law enforcement examination. *Note: Corrections and Correctional Probation certifications do not meet this qualification.
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of sworn law enforcement experience.
* Must currently possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License or if selected, must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License by the date of appointment.
* Must reside within 70 air miles of the Fort Pierce District Office at the time of employment by the time of hire.
* Must pass a law enforcement level 2 background screening.

Duties
Conduct on-site field investigations

Position Summary
A majority of the work activity involves field surveillance requiring the investigator to obtain high quality videotape documentation of claimants who have filed workers compensation and liability/personal injury claims. Investigators are also responsible for submitting accurate and timely reports regarding the results of their investigations. In addition, investigators conduct background investigations, neighborhood canvasses, activity checks, and locates. The Field Investigator performs their duties using the highest legal and ethical investigative standards while efficiently utilizing time and resources to provide outstanding investigative services.
Qualifications
Bi-lingual is a plus
Ability and willingness to travel as necessary
Flexibility to work varied/irregular hours and days
Strong computer and Internet skills
Possess a valid state-issued driver's license
Possess a reliable vehicle, digital camera and computer with Windows Operating System, Microsoft Word and Internet connection
