QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in investment banking, commercial banking, corporate finance, or similar fields
A track record of:
Sourcing Deals - including the ability to originate leads, market the firm to the potential client, and manage the engagement letter negotiation process
Marketing Deals - utilizing strong communication skills and the eagerness to personally contact potential counterparties for deals
Completing Transactions - including the ability to compile marketing materials, structure transactions, and successfully negotiate transactions, especially through the inevitable roadblocks
Capable of effectively leading multiple day-to-day client relationships with the CEOs/business owners over long periods of time and multiple client engagements
Ability to market transactions to private equity firms, strategic buyers, etc., with the ideal candidate already possessing solid relationships with said parties but not mandatory
Self-motivated, personable (both with clients and colleagues), enjoys networking, and has a strong work ethic

Provides financial support for the reporting of USPD Commercial and Pharma Functional SG&A and Capital reporting including the development of new business cases to support strategic investments and business initiatives
Provide financial support for Retail Independent and National Accounts sales teams for the Pharma segment
Responsibilities
Supports key planning and reporting processes (Monthly results reviews, Forecasts, Strategic Financial Plan, Budget, Earnings)
Develops and supports real time updates on performance, implications, and recommended actions, including build out a maintenance of the SG&A Dashboard and regular communication with key stakeholders
Supports the preparation of materials for the CEO, CFO and Board of Directors, including providing financial analysis and commentary
Employs a process improvement mindset to deliver efficiencies across work areas

Qualifications

Marketing/Brand Finance - Finance partner to Brand Marketing teams. Provide reporting on respective SBU and retailer performance. Analyze product lines/SKUs, build P&Ls for existing portfolios and new product launches.
Supply Chain Finance - Provide financial support for Manufacturing, Distribution, Procurement Operations and Inventory Management. Create, update, and analyze financial reports. Collaborate within the supply chain finance team to complete monthly close, special projects and support budget and forecast activities.
Hawthorne Finance - Work with the Hawthorne Finance team to learn about the hydroponics industry from a financial perspective. Tasks include category/item P&Ls, tracking sales performance, forecasting, modeling, month end close responsibilities, ad hoc requests, and collaboration with operators driving the business.
Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting - Update policy, gather support, and organize/refine the workbooks that the reporting team uses to compose public documents. Interns in the executive financial reporting unit assist with the preparation and filing of all SEC Documents.
Internal Audit - Assist the Internal Audit Team in planning, performing, and reporting on financial (SOX) and operational audits. Interns benefit from exposure to all levels of company management, the daily operations of the company, and to our external auditors.
Investor Relations / Strategy - (MBA Student) - Assist with summarizing analysts reports, preparing for earnings calls, attending investor meetings and collecting data on the market and other trends on the IR. Oistenin to external earnings calls then summarizing them for executive and senior leaders, assisting general managers with industry assessments, competitive intelligence gathering and adhoc strategic projects.
