Campus Pastor - Cascade Campus
Non profit job in Ada, MI
Ada Bible Church is seeking a Campus Pastor for one of its local campuses. The Campus Pastor serves as the primary leader and shepherd to the assigned campus (Cascade), responsible for carrying the DNA and vision of Ada Bible Church while ensuring that campus ministry is healthy, growing, and aligned with Ada Bible's vision of deeper discipleship and wider reach. This role leads through vision casting, leadership, team development, pastoral care, and platform communication.
What you will do:
We've summarized the Campus Pastor responsibilities by breaking them down into 4 main ministry areas.
Vision & Culture Leadership
Serve as the primary DNA carrier of Ada Bible Church for the campus, ensuring that values, tone, and culture are consistent with the church.
Set a spiritual tone and culture that reflects the vision of Deeper Discipleship and Wider Reach.
Provide platform leadership during weekend services that inspires people to take next steps in faith [salvation, baptism, membership, serving, groups, giving].
Lead both campus staff and the congregation toward spiritual growth and community engagement.
Act as a key connection point between campus staff and central ministry directors, collaborating to implement church-wide vision and initiatives.
Ownership of Campus Health & Growth
Ensure campus ministry is aligned with Ada Bible Church's vision of Deeper Discipleship and Wider Reach.
Accountable to monitor and assess campus health [Campus Engagement, Courageous Step Metrics] and strategically address growth opportunities and challenges.
Collaborate with central ministry leaders to implement strategic initiatives that align with church-wide vision.
Supervise the Campus Director, overseeing the process for assimilation, membership and invite weekends.
Leadership Development & Multiplication
Build and empower high-capacity volunteer leaders to carry out ministry.
Foster a leadership culture where volunteers see themselves as essential to the mission.
Identify, recruit, and develop leaders of Deacon/Elder quality and other key roles.
Partner with ministry staff to ensure leadership pipelines are healthy and growing.
Congregational Care - Assessment & Delegation
Ensure people are known, cared for, and supported through effective care systems.
Build and empower a care team of volunteer leaders (care elders, marriage mentors, benevolence deacons, etc.) to meet needs.
Assess care needs within the congregation and delegate to appropriate staff, volunteers, or central teams.
Ensure that people are moving toward relational connection and pastoral care through groups and ministry teams.
Who We're Looking For
We're searching for a leadership-minded, relationally gifted, spiritually grounded pastor to help lead one of our Ada Bible Church campuses. This is a key pastoral leadership role-more than just managing Sunday services or running programs. We're looking for someone who lead teams, builds healthy culture and shepherds people, as part of a collaborative, Jesus-centered team.
This role requires at least five years of pastoral ministry experience, a Bachelor's degree and formal biblical education (seminary or graduate work preferred), and a deep personal commitment to Christ and his church.
But more than a résumé, we're looking for a leader who brings both spiritual weight and relational warmth. Someone who's hungry to grow, secure enough to lead with humility, and ready to be part of a leadership team that deeply values unity, integrity, and kingdom impact.
You Might Be the Right Fit If...
You build trust quickly with people-on the patio, in crisis, in meetings, and in the lobby. You're naturally pastoral and others-centered.
You're a confident and clear communicator. While you won't preach regularly, you will host weekend services and speak in a variety of settings. You can command a room, bring clarity, and carry the heart of our church.
You embody the DNA of Ada Bible Church. You love the mission, vision, and culture-and you're ready to replicate that DNA while adapting it to your unique campus context.
You develop people and build teams. You're not just good with people-you invest in them, develop leaders, and know how to bring out the best in others.
You navigate conflict wisely. You know how to hold tension, have hard conversations with grace, and lead through complexity without losing your cool or your calling.
You're grounded in character and theology. You live out the qualities of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Your walk with Jesus is genuine, growing, and deeply integrated into your leadership.
You're a team player. You want to lead alongside a team that's committed to shared mission, mutual encouragement, and helping each other win.
Ready to apply?
If this all sounds good to you and you would like to join us, we want to learn more about you!
To apply, click the “Apply” button at the bottom of this page. Be sure to submit your cover letter and resume along with your employment application. Please include a video of yourself hosting weekend services or delivering an on-stage message if you have one.

OUR CULTURE:
Guiding Principles describe our behaviors to support our organization's work throughout its life in all circumstances, irrespective of changes in goals, strategies, and leadership. Our Guiding Principles are as follows: We CULTIVATE-We grow staff and volunteer leaders who will be stewards of the Y mission, resources, and opportunities. We OWN-We think long-term and act on behalf of the organization, beyond our own team. We WELCOME-We are inclusive of all people and all communities. We SERVE-We provide timely and excellent service to members, volunteers, community, and each other. We LEARN-We are never done learning and always seek to improve. We are curious about new possibilities and act to explore them. We UNITE-We work together to achieve big goals and speak as one voice. We RESPECT-We treat others with kindness and speak positively about other people in all situations. We PLAY-We celebrate, appreciate, and have fun!
The YMCA of Great Grand Rapids utilizes a
Membership By Design
framework, which is a member involvement and community building model for YMCAs across the country. All staff members-front-line, management, full- and part-time-and volunteers have a role to play in member engagement. These responsibilities can be broken into six steps:
Enrollment: Staff and volunteers encourage potential members to enroll in programs and activities that meet their needs.
Satisfaction: Staff and volunteers ask members continually about their satisfaction with a program or activity, track responses, listen to suggestions, and respond promptly in a manner consistent with the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Relationship Building: Staff and volunteers are open, friendly, and approachable to all YMCA members and participants. Staff and volunteers initiate interaction with and between members.
Education and Conversion: Staff and volunteers know about and share their knowledge of the YMCA, its programs, its policies, its mission, its values, and how it benefits members and the community.
Volunteerism and Leadership: Staff and volunteers create opportunities for members to volunteer in their areas of interest, and they ask members to do so whenever appropriate.
Ownership: Staff and volunteers encourage members to “own” the YMCA, using words such as “we,” “us,” and “our association” (and actions that match those words) to include members as well as staff and volunteers.
