Thomas Mika previously served as the Chairman of the Board of Rennova Health, the successor company to CollabRx and its predecessor, Tegal Corporation, a semiconductor capital equipment company. On the Board of Directors of Tegal since its spin-out from Motorola in 1989, Mika assumed the roles of Chief Financial Officer in 2002, CEO in 2005 and Chairman & CEO in 2006, positions which he held until 2015. In 2015, Tegal merged with Rennova Health with Mika retaining the position of Chairman until joining POET in November 2016. Previously, Mika co-founded IMTEC, a boutique investment and consulting firm, serving clients in the U.S., Europe and Japan over a period of 20 years, taking on the role of CEO in several ventures. Earlier in his career, Mika was a managing consultant with Cresap, McCormick & Paget and a policy analyst for the National Science Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.

He is passionate about promoting medication safety and personalizing care through the use of advanced technology. Dr. Calvin H. Knowlton is known for his unique entrepreneurial and management skills. He has won several awards for innovation and leadership in pharmacy, business, and philanthropy, including Ernest and Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2003), Walter M. Aikman Entrepreneur of the Year (2004) and Most Influential Pharmacist in the U.S. (1997). Dr. Knowlton has served as the national president for the American Pharmaceutical Association, the American College of Apothecaries, and the American Pharmacists Association Foundation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Coriell Institute for Medicine, Camden, NJ, and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Knowlton founded excelleRx/Hospice Pharmacia, the first national pharmacy devoted to hospice. During his tenure as Chairman and CEO from 1995-2007, the company served 40% of all patients on hospice in the United States. Prior to excelleRx, Dr. Knowlton owned several pharmacy and infusion-related businesses including Amherst Pharmacy and Health Education Center, which serviced the largest nursing homes in South Jersey. At the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, he was Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Management in the College of Pharmacy and Science. He is the author and co-author of numerous books, book chapters, and articles focused on the role and responsibility of pharmacists in the outcomes of patient-centered medication care. His book, Pharmaceutical Care, is in its second edition.Dr. Knowlton received his Bachelors in Pharmacy from Temple University, his Masters in Divinity from Princeton University, and his PhD in Pharmacoeconomics from the University of Maryland.

John also led Medco’s acquisitions and investments, investing over $10 billion in capital in high-growth companies, including specialty pharmacy Accredo Health. John founded and chaired the Surescripts ePrescribing Network, building the first cross-industry collaborative with competing Retail, PBM, and Health Plans cooperating to revolutionize e-prescribing. Surescripts has grown from servicing under 50 million prescriptions in 2005, to over 1 billion prescriptions today. John also served as an Advisor to Oak Investment Partners. He was a member of the executive team at Oxford Health Plans, serving as Corporate Vice President for government programs. At Oxford Health Plans, he built and led the Medicare & Medicaid business, from start-up to over $1.3 billion in annual revenue. During his time at Oxford, the company was one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. and was widely recognized as one of the most innovative companies in healthcare. John was selected by the White House for its Entrepreneurs in Residence program in 2011 to advise the FDA on new paths for innovation. He has published articles in Los Angeles Times and Time Magazine. John has a B.A. and M.B.A. from Harvard University, and was a resident tutor at Winthrop House. John also holds an MPhil from Cambridge University in England. He chairs the Truman National Security Project, and served as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve. He serves as a Board Member for the Alliance for Hunger and the Press Ganey Corporation, and previously served on the Board of Outward Bound, Hurricane Island Outward Bound School, and the Domus Foundation.
