The Clinical Care Attendant in this role is dual licensed-holding a clinical credential such as CMA, LPN, EMT, or Paramedic, in addition to a Radiologic Technologist (RT) or Limited Radiologic Technologist license. Provide patient education, review after-visit instructions, and conduct follow-up communications as needed.
Maintain clean and stocked exam and imaging rooms; manage medical and radiologic supplies.
Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, providers, and support staff.
Adhere to all regulatory standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and radiologic safety requirements.
Participate in staff meetings, ongoing training, and quality improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as needed to support the overall operation of the clinic.
Qualifications
Current licensure/certification as one of the following: CMA, LPN, EMT, or Paramedic.
CMA must have certification through NHA, AAMA, NCCT or AMT (RMA) + have graduated from an accredited CMA program
Other licenses must be in good standing to practice in Iowa
Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist or Limited Radiologic Technologist.
BLS certification.
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Experience with EPIC a plus but not required
Clinical experience desired
Full-Time Part-Time Days or Nights, every third weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities
Performs specific tasks as directed by the RN and other healthcare team members as identified in the PCT role. Consults and seeks out guidance from RN and/or other healthcare team members, as appropriate and when completing new or unfamiliar tasks or duties.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
Activities of Daily Living
Answering patient call lights
Assisting with simple procedures defined in the work area
Taking and recording vital signs and weights
Transporting patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens
Assists in maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment
Obtains, records and/or accurately enters data into the EMR. Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient's care.
Verbally presents factual, concise, and timely information and/or patient care data to the RN, the healthcare team, patients and/or family members in a professional manner.
Qualifications
Education:
Enrolled in a formal BSN or ADN nursing program to include completion of introductory clinical nursing course with clinical component.
Team members within UPH-DM may remain in Student Nurse tech role for up to 6-months after passing the board and achieving RN license.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Must possess and maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or obtain certification within three months from date of hire.

Completion of 1 RN clinical rotation

Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
