The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for performing direct psychiatric services and may provide psychiatric consultation with other mental health center staff within their recognized nursing specialty and patient populations. These services may be provided on site, at satellite offices, via telemedicine, or through consultation contracts. Responsibilities · Provide direct services through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment of patients assigned on an outpatient basis. · Prescribe and review medications as necessary for consumers following current standards of care. · Serve as liaison for Abbe with community physicians, hospital staff, and other professionals and agencies with regard to psychiatric services. · Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines. · Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance. · Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position. · Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare. · Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year. · Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance. Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Experience in the practice of psychiatry in outpatient settings. Responsibilities We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic cardiology team at the Methodist Hospital Specialty Clinic. In this role, you will help triage and assess patient needs, coordinate care, and support patients and families as they manage complex cardiovascular conditions. You will work closely with experienced cardiologists and healthcare professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment. Patient Assessment & Triage * Evaluate incoming patient phone calls to determine the urgency of cardiac-related symptoms and appropriate next steps. * Provide telephone triage for symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizziness, edema, or blood pressure concerns, and guide patients to the appropriate level of care or follow-up. Care Coordination * Assist in coordinating urgent and emergent care for patients with acute or worsening cardiovascular conditions (e.g., chest pain, heart failure exacerbation, arrhythmias, syncope). * Communicate efficiently with cardiologists and clinical team members to ensure timely and effective care. Patient & Family Education * Educate patients and caregivers on cardiovascular conditions, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications. * Offer ongoing support and resources tailored to each patient's needs, including symptom monitoring and when to seek urgent care. Clinical Documentation & Follow-Up * Accurately document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans using the electronic health record (EHR). * Track patient outcomes and coordinate follow-up care, diagnostic testing, and referrals to ensure continuity of care. Qualifications * Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa * Experience: All levels of RN experience will be considered. Prior experience in neurology or specialty care is a plus, but not required. * Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
