This role is a dedicated, on-site maintenance technician responsible for one farm (or a small set of farms) reporting to production operations leadership.
Responsible for completing any/all minor maintenance and repairs of swine facilities and equipment for Iowa Select Farms.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Adhere to ISF bio-security policy and report any violations to management team.

Utilize the ISF Tools work ticket system to effectively track all repairs and materials associated with each repair.
Demonstrate general trade knowledge, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and welding.
Prioritize maintenance and repair items based upon highest priority. Animal welfare items, including feed, water, air/ventilation, and animal containment are of immediate concern.
Be available to work on weekends for emergency maintenance needs.
Ensure that all preventative maintenance items are routinely completed for the facilities and equipment.
Manage/maintain an on-site parts inventory as necessary to complete routine repairs.
Maintain the capacity to properly/effectively:
Repair and/or replace curtain systems
Fabricate, weld and repair penning area
Repair and/or replace feedline systems

PURPOSE OF POSITION

General:
Prestage is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the food safety and quality standards of our pork processing facility. You will work to ensure that all products are manufactured in compliance with industry regulations, customer requirements, and company standards. This position reports to the Assistant VP of Technical Services and requires a Monday to Friday, day shift schedule, with the flexibility to work early shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), USDA regulations, and customer requirements.
Provide guidance and support in the development and enforcement of food safety procedures and best practices.
Supervise and lead a team of QA technicians responsible for quality control throughout the entire pork processing process, from incoming to shipment.
Act as a backup for the Assistant VP of Technical Services and technicians in their absence.
Deliver comprehensive training on GMPs, HACCP, SSOP, and USDA regulations to plant personnel designees.
Conduct regular audits of work practices, environments, and procedures to identify food safety risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with operations to ensure thorough quality inspection of existing and new equipment and processes.
Participate in food safety incident investigations and provide recommendations for solutions and process improvements.
Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required, further education in a technical field is preferred, but not required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a quality role, preferably in a pork processing operation.
Skills/Abilities/Attributes:
Proven leadership experience in an industrial environment, with preference given to those with pork processing experience.
Experience in conducting internal and external audit procedures.
In-depth knowledge of USDA food safety regulations and quality systems.

REPORTS TO: GDU Manager
PURPOSE OF POSITION: To work as a team member caring for and administering to feeder pigs and gilts to assure optimum productivity. This person will assist where needed working with animals and light facility repair and maintenance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Adhere to ISF bio-security policy at all times and report to management team any violation.
· Adhere to ISF animal wellbeing policy at all times and know reporting procedures when incident occurs.
· Adhere to ISF safety policies and procedures and wear appropriate safety equipment (PPE) for appropriate tasks and work in a safe manner.
· The 3 key responsibilities listed above are all tracked via audits, you play a critical role in the success of audits for the entire farm which also impacts incentive payouts.
· Care and management of animals to ensure that:
Animals are properly fed.
Water is available,
Observation of all animals daily and ensuring sick animals are properly treated.
Overall animal conditions are evaluated and maintained.
Follow proper steps for timely euthanasia and be able to identify when it is needed.
· Care and management of facilities to ensure that:
Fans, curtains, heaters and other equipment are working properly.
Ventilation equipment is adjusted to provide proper environment.
Facilities are kept clean, including power washing and disinfecting.
· Maintain accurate records using ISF forms and protocols.
· Procure, administer and dispense medications and vaccinations according to ISF protocols.
· Perform heat detection, artificial insemination and pregnancy checks.
· Proper handling of chemicals (storage and application).
· Follow dead removal protocols; including driving farm equipment/tractors and ensure safety and biosecurity procedures are being followed.
· Move animals (gilts and boars) using safe handling practices.

· Receive, sort and pen incoming pigs.
· Assist with loading and unloading activities.
· Perform month end inventories on animals and supplies.
· Demeanor should be positive and professional at all times.
· Daily focus should be on welfare of animals, not personal issues.
· Attendance is critical. Be at work on scheduled days and be ready to walk into barns by start time given.
