Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, develop, and revise Airworthiness Flight Releases (AWRs) for the Army Project Office with the Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD) to meet developmental flight test and ECP timelines.
• Review program reports and disseminate to appropriate departments for formal review. Departments may include: Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD), ARMY Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC), Aviation Flight Test Directorate (AFTD) and Redstone Test Center (RTC), and/or OEM Contractors.
• Review Army Aviation contractor Statement of Works (SOWs) for cost effectiveness, verification of Army air worthiness requirements, and overall engineering capability.
• Plan, coordinate, oversee, and develop cost/schedule estimates, and execute assigned test projects within cost and schedule budgets. •
• Prepare & present briefings to interface with technical representatives
• Provide written and verbal assessments to management regarding status, issues, and risk.
• Provide feedback for contract reviews, TIMs, design reviews, & other technical meetings.

Potential candidates will have 6+ years of experience within the Department of Defense, and an active security clearance. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Systems engineer responsible for advocating for rigorous systems engineering management principles and advising assigned Utility Helicopters Product
Office(s) or projects.
- Provide overall direction, coordination, and management to ensure PO systems engineering principles are followed.
- Provide overall direction, coordination, and management to all stakeholders involved in a configuration change to the aircraft.
- Review and adjudicate submitted Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) artifacts to include all levels of performance requirement specifications (system,
subsystem, software), specification change notices, design descriptions, request for deviations, engineering change proposals, engineering change notices,
technical reports, test plans, performance plans, and others.
- Support and advise various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) on systems engineering best practices.
- Provide input to scope of work (SOWs) to ensure appropriate systems engineering requirement managements, technical reviews, and CDRLs are
incorporated appropriately.
- Support the development of Airworthiness Qualification Specifications (AQSs), and resolve issues with requirements verification efforts for achieving
Airworthiness Releases (AWRs).
- Attend and provide feedback for contract gate reviews, Technical Interface Meetings (TIMs), design reviews, and other technical meetings.
- Lead the development and implementation of specification change notifications, ensuring compliance with project requirements
Experience and Technical Knowledge:
• Active Secret Clearance
Bachelor's Degree (prefer Master's) with 6+ years' experience
Knowledge of contract requirements and documents (Systems Engineering Plans, Performance Work Statements, etc.)

Education, and General Experience:

Job Duties:

Assess and derive Customer-Country unique helicopter product verification requirements.
Support program acquisition strategies, program cost and schedule estimates, and program risk assessments and mitigations
Obtain, assess, apply, and ensure verification of product airworthiness requirements
Develop and prepare CRPs to include SOW, CDRL, and DSL requirements
Evaluate contractor proposals
Ensure CDRLs are work-flowed, reviewed, answered, and tracked IAW standard work
Ensure program follows systems engineering processes to include development of system, item, and airworthiness qualification specifications
Support major program technical reviews to include SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, and SVR
Ensure aircraft products are Army airworthiness certified IAW AR 70-62 and contract requirements are met
Collaborate and coordinate with other Material Developer (e.g., UHPO, AMRDEC, AMCOM, and ACC) personnel
Manage contractor and supplier contract performance
Interface with, and brief, customer-chain (e.g., SAMD, USASAC, DASA-DE&C, DSCA, State Dept., Embassy, and Customer-Country) representatives
Must be able and willing to travel up to 30%
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership.
