Job Title: Lead Housekeeper/Floor Tech Department: Environmental Services Status: Full-Time, Evenings Schedule: 3:00pm - 11:30pm Summary/Objective Assist Environmental Services Director in the day to day function of the department. Maintain a high level of quality in all aspects of the department's duties, by training, supporting, supervising and interacting with department team members. Ensure that all schedules are assigned and completed daily. Set a positive example for the department through professional interactions with team members, customers, patients and families and other members of the hospital community. Perform other duties as assigned by the director. Actively participate in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. As a Floor Technician, cleaning and maintaining all carpeted and hard surfaces in the facility, perform preventive maintenance on special floor equipment. The IPP has accountability for the implementation of the Infection Prevention Programs at RML Specialty Hospital. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with the review and revision to the organizational Infection Prevention program to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and external regulatory requirements. In collaboration with the Director of Quality and Patient Safety develops, revises, and implements site-specific Infection Prevention plans. Assists in the development, revision, and implementation of policies and procedures regarding asepsis and infection prevention in accordance with accepted current standards of practice. Maintains a system to reduce the spread of infection and communicable disease among patients, visitors, and staff. In collaboration with Director of Quality and Patient Safety compiles and analyzes surveillance data to identify epidemiologically significant problems; develops appropriate measures for prevention and control of these problems. Identifies and assists with implementation of improved surveillance and reporting processes. Makes a building check at the beginning of each shift, unusual results are reported/remedied. * Makes repairs on boiler/chiller room equipment. * Monitors the emergency generator every week, knows the proper operating procedures in case of a power failure, and logs results. * Conducts the cooling tower water tests, performs the treatments, and logs results. * Knows all the emergency measures to take when lines break in the building, and understands the valve tag charts. * Rebuilds and repairs the steam traps. MECHANICAL * Daily checks of the air handling equipment for signs of malfunctioning, reports, and repairs. * Keeps all the mechanical equipment in good repair and working condition, in consideration for the comfort and well-being of all occupants, and reports any problems. ELECTRICAL * Makes electrical repairs throughout the Hospital and Resident Home, installs outlets, plugs, motors, etc. * Repairs electrical equipment such as light fixtures, switches, and wall plugs. * Performs preventive maintenance checks on exhaust fans, electric motors on pumps, heating and air conditioning equipment, and required electrical outlet preventive maintenance. CARPENTRY WORK * Maintains structural woodwork, furniture, equipment, and fixtures. * Operates powered woodworking machinery, such as saws, planers, and sanders. * Has to be able to measure, saw, square, fit, sand and nail, to repair partitions, doors, windows, floors, furniture, and building framework. * Installs locks and door checks. REFRIGERATION AND AIR CONDITIONING * Conducts the cooling tower tests and logs the results. * Shuts down the cooling towers as directed; starts them up and readies them for air conditioning. * Adjusts the heating and cooling throughout the building to maintain comfortable levels. * Cleans out the water towers, likewise performs any other maintenance. * Checks and repairs refrigeration equipment in the facility. PLUMBING * Installs pipes, fittings, and fixtures. * Repairs faucets, bedpan flushers, toilet flushers, valves and vacuum breakers as needed. * Cleans out drains and traps. * Soders, caulks, and repair leaks and broken pipes. * Replace worn washers or other parts in leaky valves or traps. * Services the Dietary equipment. * Services the Laundry equipment. LEADERSHIP DUTIES * Trains and educates Maintenance 1 & 2 staff. This position will provide assistance with the management, tracking, and reporting of certain ACO initiatives such as Chronic Care Coordination (CCC), Transitional Care Coordination (TCC), and Medicare Annual Wellness Visits (AWV). GIBSON AREA HOSPITAL & HEALTH SERVICES MISSION STATEMENT To provide personalized, professional healthcare services to the residents of the Communities we serve. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Create ad-hoc reports on quality data within the GAH clinics. • Build relationships with Clinic Staff, Clinic Managers, and Providers and serve as a key resource for data as it pertains to the ACO. • Track and update the ACO Director on CCC, TCC, and AWV. • Works with staff to coordinate managed care Quality data. • Helps carry out process improvements as it pertains to clinic quality. • Work with external entities such as the Illinois Rural Community Care Organization (IRCCO) to provide necessary report and data. • Identify patients that are considered high cost utilizers of the Emergency Departments and assist these patients with getting in to see their Primary Care Physician (PCP). • Perform other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. 2. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. 3. Skill in performing safety inspections and ensuring compliance with regulatory safety standards. 4. Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures. 5. Skill in performing safety inspections ensuring compliance with OSHA and NFPA safety standards. 8. Ability to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds, lifting up to 10 feet on a daily basis, and standing up to 1 hour if necessary. 9. Physical strength to perform the following lifting tasks: a. Floor to Knuckle- 20 pounds b. 12” to Knuckle- 30 pounds c. Knuckle to Shoulder- 20 pounds d. Shoulder to Overhead- 10 pounds e. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. 12. Ability to respond on call requests after hours in a timely and appropriate manner. 13. Visual acuity necessary to observe, obtain information and use documentation. 14. Auditory acuity to hear patient/family/others for the purpose of communication REPORTING RELATIONSHIP Reports to ACO Director Qualifications EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 1. The CMA is a graduate from an accredited medical assistant program, has passed the national examination administered by the National Board of Medical Examiners, and has achieved certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Recertification is required every 24 months (2 years) and is accomplished by retesting and completing 10 continuing education credits. 2. The CMA is a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program, who has not taken and passed the national examination. The CMA will be expected to achieve certification within one year of hire. 3. Current BLS certification as required with CMA certification. 4. Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to learn department and job-specific software systems. 5. If certified, maintains certification in Department of Transportation (DOT) and non-DOT drug screening procedures. INFECTION EXPOSURE RISK LEVEL Category 2- Minimal Risk - This job exposes you to occasional or in emergency situations to blood, body fluids or tissue. It is recommended that you get the Hepatitis B vaccine WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Works in a normal office where there relatively few discomforts due to dust, diet, noise, and the like. 2. Works in office with one other employee, potential for personal harm or injury is limited when proper safety precautions are taken.
