Job Summary
Summary: Performs routine labor associated with irrigation management, including digging, pipe repair, head/valve replacement and small equipment operation. Utilizes math and estimation skills to calculate proper irrigation regimes through audit and calibration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Repairs existing underground sprinkler and drip systems, including malfunctioning heads and nozzles.
Adjusts spray heads for correct coverage.
Implements and adjusts irrigation schedules as directed by Irrigation Supervisor.
Replaces malfunctioning valves and pressure control devices; adjusts water flow and repair.
Replaces PVC lateral lines and PVC and iron constant pressure water supply lines.
Inspects irrigated areas and routinely exercises irrigation systems to test for malfunctions, breaks and wetting coverage of lawns, trees, shrubs and ground covers.
Installs new systems and modifies old systems according to plans or blueprints.
Prepares site with trenching equipment or hand digging.
Lays, cuts, prepares and glues PVC pipe and fittings; inserts valves and connects to controller; inserts and sets sprinkler heads.
Backfills trenches and levels soil surface.
Operates various types of equipment including trenchers or small tractors, hand-held power equipment and hand tools.
Maintains records for all work or services performed.
Mitigates all irrigation-related safety hazards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Two years of experience in irrigation repairs.
Valid State Irrigation Technician License.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to operate irrigation-related equipment.
Ability to repeatedly lift 25 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions:
Extensive driving, walking and equipment operation. Exposure to: extreme weather conditions, pesticides, fertilizers, pollen producing environment, paint and petroleum products. Work time expectation: 90% of time will be physical labor, 10% training and misc.

Position Summary

An Irrigation Technician is able to foresee potential problems and have the specialty skills needed to solve them. Careful planning and the ability to anticipate issues are qualities which BrightView particularly value. People with your mindset and proactive work-style, are just what our customers expect.
You'd be responsible for:
+ Monitoring and testing new installations, troubleshoot and repair problems, observe pipe and valve placements, and evaluate start-ups, winterization and overall operation of the irrigation system.
+ Conducting and recording detailed inspections and plan/execute upgrades of client systems.
You might be a good fit if you have:
+ Along with supervisory skills and your proactive manner, we require a minimum of 1 year of productive experience in the installation, inspection and repair of irrigation systems.
+ A valid driver's license
+ Good knowledge of trenchers, multi-meters, wire locators, ditchers and pipe sizing are also essential.
And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:
+ Bilingual in Spanish
+ Ability to create and read site map colored charts/legends

Conserva Irrigation promotes from within - training our Level One Technicians to become Level Two Technicians to become Sales Technicians and beyond as an accredited industry participant. As a Conserva Level Two Technician you are a self-starter who has been in the industry and has already developed a professional approach to irrigation. You will be primarily be responsible for Level Two repairs such as troubleshooting, enhancing existing systems to make them more efficient, installing smart irrigation controllers and associated flow sensing equipment and will have tons of opportunity to learn and excel on the job.BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION

LEVEL TWO TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES
Valve and manifold repair and rebuilding
Installing high-tech smart irrigation controllers
Adding on to existing systems
Install Micro and drip irrigation installation and enhancements
Install High-tech sensor and flow sensing installation
Assess residential irrigation systems through our proven SES sales process, presenting and selling irrigation system efficiency upgrades, repairs, enhancements, and seasonal packages
Assess commercial irrigation systems through our proven CSA sales process, presenting and selling irrigation system efficiency upgrades, repairs, enhancements and maintenance packages
Service area may include Loudon, Fairfax, Prince William, and Stafford Counties in Northern Virginia
LEARNING ON THE JOB
Work independently, yet be part of a team working directly with a Sales Technician
Assess residential irrigation systems through our proven SES sales process
Assess commercial irrigation systems through our proven CSA sales process
Advance to a Sales Technician role where you can finally put away your shovel for good
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of documented irrigation industry experience and proficiency required
Clean driving record
Results-oriented
Motivation to earn production bonuses
Great attitude with a desire for growth
Ability to work regular physical labor outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
