Gas Technician I - Construction are responsible for the construction, maintenance and operations of the City's gas distribution system. Utility Tech Apprentice Job Description Under direct supervision, performs repairs of all water and wastewater infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, water mains, water services, water taps, fire hydrants, valves, sewer mains, sewer services, manholes, and clean outs. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Assist with special projects for the department. * Reviews reports to identify errors, unusual account activity, recommends necessary adjustments, handles special investigations on meter discrepancies, identifies and corrects meter reading errors that affect billing, and monitors high profile accounts. * Advises Utilities superintendent and utility leadership of error patterns/trends, including incorrect service order or assignment type, address affiliation to a meter and resolution which all effect production and customer satisfaction. * Provides support in the research, organization, implementation & completion of special projects as assigned. * Performs related work as assigned.
