The Roll Tender will be integral in maintaining a continuous flow of production by preparing rolls of paper for printing, making necessary adjustments, and ensuring that all press materials meet job specifications. Key Responsibilities: Load Paper Rolls: Load rolls of paper onto the automatic splicing unit, ensuring correct positioning and securement. Inspect and Prepare: Inspect rolls of paper for blemishes, tears, or defects. Cut away damaged areas with a knife as needed and prepare paper for loading. Adjust and Operate: Make necessary adjustments to the auto splicer to ensure proper paper feeding and continuous press operation. Thread and Secure: Roll paper into position, insert the splicer shaft through the roll core, and secure the holding chucks to the shaft ends. Thread paper through press components. Adhesive Application: Apply adhesive strips to backup rolls and insert them onto the automatic splicer. Transport Rolls: Operate a mechanical truck to move rolls of paper to the press area if required.
