Solution Incubation Team | Equinix
Equinix is seeking a Senior Principal Technical Product Manager who operates at the intersection of solution architecture and technical marketing, with deep, hands-on expertise in hybrid and multi-cloud networking and security. This role is responsible for designing, building, and validating cloud networking and security architectures with technology partners, and then turning those architectures into scalable, repeatable solutions for distributed AI workloads.
As a senior member of the Solution Incubation Team, you will both roll up your sleeves to prototype and solution with partners and translate those outcomes into clear solution offers, reference architectures, and technical narratives that fuel go-to-market.
Key Responsibilities
Hybrid multi-cloud networking architecture
Design and evolve end-to-end hybrid and multi-cloud network architectures (VPC/VNet design, peering, transit, direct interconnects, SDN, service mesh) that underpin distributed AI training and inference.
Build and validate hands-on proofs of concept and reference implementations with cloud providers and networking partners, ensuring low-latency, high-throughput connectivity across cloud, colo, and edge.
Develop reusable reference architectures, solution blueprints, and design patterns for AI-ready network fabrics spanning compute, storage, and edge locations.
Cloud security and zero-trust partner ecosystem solution design
Define and implement cloud-neutral security architectures with technology partners including encryption in transit, IAM, micro-segmentation, policy-as-code, and network security controls across multi-cloud environments.
Collaborate with internal and external (partner) security and infrastructure teams to operationalize zero-trust principles, security monitoring, and compliance-aligned controls for distributed AI traffic patterns.
Automate security guardrails and baselines within CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code workflows for partner solutions.
Networking for distributed AI solutions
Translate distributed AI requirements (data gravity, GPU clusters, east-west traffic, multi-region replication) into concrete network and security designs.
Partner with AI platform, data, and hardware teams to ensure networking, interconnection, and security architectures unlock performance and resilience for large-scale AI deployments.
Learn and expand AI domain knowledge as it relates to networking and security (e.g., how model placement, data pipelines, and inference endpoints drive network design).
Hands-on solutioning with partners
Work directly with technology partners (cloud, networking, security, AI infrastructure) to design, build, and validate joint solutions on Equinix's platform.
Own technical build activities: standing up lab environments, configuring cloud networking and interconnect, integrating partner stacks, performance testing, and documenting results.
Lead technical due diligence and validation of partner offerings for connectivity, security, and operational fit in hybrid/multi-cloud architectures.
Technical marketing and enablement
Translate complex architectures into clear solution assets: reference architectures, whiteboard diagrams, solution briefs, demos, and technical presentations.
Deliver technical evangelism for Equinix-based networking and security solutions supporting AI workloads through partner enablement sessions, webinars, and customer briefings.
Equip sales, partner teams, and solution architects with technical playbooks, FAQs, and demo flows to drive adoption of hybrid multi-cloud networking solutions.
Cross-functional leadership
Act as the central technical liaison bridging product, engineering, networking, security, and partner teams for solution incubation and launch.
Represent cloud networking and security requirements in roadmap discussions, influencing product features and platform investments aligned to distributed AI scenarios.
Monitor solution performance and customer feedback and drive continuous improvement of architectures, patterns, and partner integrations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
10+ years in technical product management, solution architecture, or similar roles with a strong focus on hybrid/multi-cloud networking and cloud security.
Proven, hands-on experience designing and operating multi-cloud and hybrid network fabrics: VPC/VNet architectures, peering, transit gateways, SDN, direct interconnects.
Deep understanding of cloud provider networking and security (AWS, Azure, GCP), including routing, firewalls, load balancing, IAM, and security groups/policies.
Practical experience implementing zero-trust principles, network segmentation/micro-segmentation, encryption, and security monitoring in cloud and hybrid environments.
Demonstrated ability to build POCs, labs, and demos and to document and present technical solutions in a way that resonates with both technical and business stakeholders.
Strong desire and aptitude to expand AI-related knowledge, specifically how AI platforms, data pipelines, and inference services impact networking and security architecture.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, comfortable presenting to customers, partners, and executives.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Equinix Fabric, Network Edge, and interconnection services or comparable hybrid/multi-cloud connectivity platforms.
Background in networking for data-intensive or distributed systems (HPC, big data, or AI/ML platforms) and understanding of typical traffic patterns.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, service meshes, and container networking in hybrid/multi-cloud contexts.
Experience collaborating with or enabling partner ecosystems including cloud providers, security vendors, network OEMs, and integrators.
Exposure to AI governance, security, and data privacy considerations across regions and cloud providers.
What You'll Accomplish
Establish Equinix as the preferred platform for secure, high-performance hybrid and multi-cloud networking that powers distributed AI.
Deliver repeatable, validated joint solutions with partners that accelerate customer time-to-value for AI workloads.
Elevate the organization's maturity in hybrid multi-cloud connectivity, automation, and security for AI deployments across global markets.
Team & Culture
Join a highly motivated incubation team at the intersection of cloud, networking, and AI infrastructure.
