1993

LANDESK introduced the desktop management category in 1993.

1999

Since its founding in 1999, the company has helped thousands of customers optimise and secure millions of endpoints, helping IT departments gain the most from their enterprise workspace.

2002

In 2002 LANDESK Software became a standalone company with headquarters near Salt Lake City, Utah.

2006

Also in 2006, LANDESK added process management technologies to its product line and extended into the consolidated service desk market with LANDESK Service Desk.

In 2006, Avocent purchased the company for $416 million.

2010

Originally based in Daresbury, England, AppSense opened a US headquarters in New York City in 2010, as well as a Technology and Development centre in Sunnyvale, California.

In 2010 LANDESK was acquired by private equity firm Thoma Bravo.

2011

Private equity firm Thoma Bravo acquired LANDESK Software in 2011.

2012

In 2012, LANDESK purchased both Managed Planet and Wavelink, a provider of supply-chain mobility software solutions.

2013

In 2013 LANDESK purchased patch management and network security innovator Shavlik from VMware.

2015

In 2015, LANDESK acquired Xtraction Solutions, a company that brings business intelligence to IT operations initiatives.

HEAT software was a producer of software for IT Service Management and Endpoint Management formed in 2015 by the merger of FrontRange Solutions and Lumension Security.

2016

LANDESK acquired AppSense in April 2016.

2017

On April 12, 2017, Ivanti acquired Concorde Solutions, a UK based Software Asset Management company.

2020

On December 1, 2020, Ivanti announced those acquisitions completed.

2021

On January 26, 2021, Ivanti announced the intent to acquire Cherwell Software.
